How will the muslim players fasting with Ramadan cope without water in the heat in Brazil?
Surely a major disadvantage?

This was discussed in L'Equipe yesterday - Deschamps said he isn't worried but I can't see how Benzema would be near dead if he had to play in those conditions..

I run 10k 5 times a week and I know even with this small amount of running how you need hydration.
I went to Florida last year and it was mental hot.

How can they do this??

I believe Ozil and Sagna are not partaking.
Not sure about the others, would guess they would do the same

The fast doesn't apply when you are "travelling or at war" apparently so suspect these will be used as reasons not to partake.

Lots on this in the RP today: seems as posted above, many are not going to follow this except Algeria supposedly.

Will be interesting if it goes to extra time?

They usually have the option to not participate if they are involved in sport where you need to be hydrated or if it will impact on performance. We had Zesh Rehman (unfortunately) at Bradford City and he didn't fast when playing but opted to donate extra money to charity instead during Ramadan.
