Looks a pretty difficult day and one to keep my powder dry, I think. Even the Chester Cup looks a bookies dream. Wonder if Magellan Strait can add to his 150-1 win in the Irish Cesarewitch 
with Buick up. You have to go back seven races to find Zoffee’s last decent run, but it was in this race last year doncha know. Or The Shunter who won our Cesarewitch at Newmarket in October. Hey ho, I haven’t a clue.
One notebook horse out which is Israr - 3:05 - who looked as if he was going to win at Sandown last time a furlong or so out, but two of them closed up fast and he couldn’t find any more to stop them. Even so it was a good run. Can he last out over this distance in a true run race? The Gosden’s seem to thinks so (and he has beaten Adyar over 1m4f) so who am I to argue. I’ll give him a go in this, anyway, but not a full bet.
Another Buick booking that caught my eye was Box To Box - 2:35. He’s been running quite handily in Bahrain over the winter, but he is Chester specialist (116121) and he has a very nice draw in stall 2. A fun punt at 10/1, maybe.
