I saw Jinny's post but I'll just keep things simple and choose another dark horse in list 1 and keep list 2 as it was last night.

:lol: It’s a good job someone’s on the ball....honestly I am utterly hopeless! That’s what comes of trying to juggle work, clients arriving, making beetroot chutney, having a long text conversation with a guy I’ve never met but gives me counselling (hilarious not seriously) and trying to find a dark horse!

It's fine; have a feeling Oscar Elite might win something at a decent price which would be double bonus points as a dark horse.

For next season I have a suggestion to make things easier:

Compile the list from oddschecker. Take all horses at 20-1 or less for the festival and any big NH ante-post races. They can then be copied and pasted into a google doc and then sorted a-z to remove duplicates and injured horses. Can be done in less than an hour for sure, only downside would be not having the trainers posted.

One possible addendum for dark horse selections; if they run before scoring starts then they are locked in for any team that made an early entry. If they subsequently appear at 20-1 or less on oddschecker then new entries can still select them as their dark horse for the competition but that list won't be eligible to win the dark horse prize.
 
Hi all

I've been reading through old posts (as I regularly do), and noticed that it's been a year since Brian Hartigan passed away.

At the time, there was some mention of a race sponsorship happening and/or naming one of the competitions after him, and the Winter Prize was mooted as a potential. However, I don't think we're running that this year? If not, can I propose that we use the TTF competition to honour his memory? If everyone is OK with this, I would suggest we play for the 'Lord Hartigan Trophy' which I am happy to fund and send out to this year's winner (with the usual obligation that the winner covers P&P for the next season).

Proposed trophy is below:

Grassy, we already have the TTF lined up to remember Col and Diamond Geezer. I have a trophy organised which Maruco has very kindly agreed to sponsor.
Possibly a different competition to honour Lord H?

If we're running the Winter Prize this year (Grey usually leads on that, I think?), happy to sponsor the trophy for that.
