No prizes for this one but the winner will come from On The Fringe, Prince De Beauchene and Salsify, unsure which at the moment though.

    Latest best odds:
    4/1 Teaforthree
    8/1 On The Fringe
    8/1 Paint The Clouds
    10/1 Current Event
    10/1 Harbour Court
    12/1 Aerial
    12/1 Pacha Du Polder
    12/1 Two Rockers
    14/1 Salsify

Not sure what to make of the Leopardstown race. Salsify went well but blew up very quickly. Can they get him to the required level in 4 weeks? On The Fringe got closer to Prince De Beauchene than I expected but I'm not sure whether that reflects well on the former or badly on the latter.
The older I get the better I was.

On the Fringe looked like he didn't see out the full trip last year.

Not much changed for me - Teaforthree still has plenty of class, OTF doesn't stay the trip (Aintree better for him) and Salsify ran a blinder and wasn't given a hard time - would be pressing up at 14/1.

Martin, any chance you can advise which yokes are/are not qualified for the Chelts Foxhunter, at this stage?

    Teaforthree
    On The Fringe
    Harbour Court
    Paint The Clouds
    Two Rockers
    Aerial
    Quinz
    Salsify
    Current Event
    Warne
    Seventh Sign
    Vital Plot

    Good man - ta.

I saw this morning that Two Rockers wasn't going to Cheltenham.

At the moment from what I'm told - Seventh Sign and Two Rockers miss Cheltenham, Warne heads to Aintree (probably via Fairyhouse), Teaforthree needs to finish top two tomorrow to qualify, if he doesn't then he'd need to win an Open P2P or finish top two in another HC before 24th February to qualify.

Quinz will struggle to qualify - he'll need to win an Open race this weekend (he's entered) and then finish top 2 in a Hunter Chase by the 24th.

Brilliant stuff, Martin - thanks a mill.

I took your advice on Salsify - I'm just trying to see if there is any blatant larceny to be had when Betfair open their Foxhunter market.

Down to a two horse race for me now. Between Teaforthree and Paint The Clouds.

Is the latter due out again beforehand do you know Martin ?

    Shame about T43.

If Irish is right, and lets face it, he's rarely wrong when it comes to this lark, T43 now has nine days to win an Open Point or finish top-two in a Hunter Chase, to qualify for the Foxhunter. He has no Rules entries over the next five days, so presumably diminishing chances of qualifying via the latter route. Co-fave might not make the race, so now is the time to have a bet, imo. Have gone in again on Salsify.

With the T43 situation I had another good look at the race and have finally pinned my colours to one with hard earned.

The unfortunate beast is Current Event and means I have gone complete circle on the horse.

I'll be over the moon if Salsify makes it number three but he looked well beaten before the Oscar Delta mishsap in the last of his wins in the race and Current Event has won each of his completed points (fell in the other) and sole Hunter chase easily. Plus he will no doubt have the backing of the Nichols stable to assist in training etc.

What I find extremely interesting - and I hadn't noticed this until now - is that the RP website omits the PTP races from his form history (as does the SL website) but the RP newsaper app has them in detail.

Nothing as yet Edgt - not run since but now two from two in Points, only danger if he's declared is balloting but his chase mark should ensure that won't happen.

Cheers DG - good to see Brackloon High entered, will definitely be having a few quid on him and also if it's a wet week then Following Dreams will be worth a bet, ground was probably about as quick as he'd want it at Leicester LTO.
