Seemed bloody strange to me for Nicholls to take Osako D'Airy to Ireland if it was a doubtful stayer...

    Of course I'm biased , but I think I have a point.

Neptune Collonges fulfilled that role last year in making sure a good pace was set for both the leading lights in the yard. I would be surprised if realistically some arrangement wasn't come to before the race with the owners, Mick Fitz rode a perfectly judged race for the purpose, and it was amazing that the horse finished so close - the Ditcheat hill does get them well primed I'm sure there will a horse in there this year to ensure a good gallop

My point isn't about positioning, or ability in a finish, its purely how he produces horses at obstacles. Ruby over fences this season has been pretty crap.
Some mix-up, shurely?!? Thomas is the one who 'can't ride for crap over fences' - he's inept riding over them. How you can assert that Thomas knows how to produce a horse at an obstacle is utterly beyond me Flame - and you a rider! Thomas is terrible at producing a horse at an obstacle; in fact, like another favourite of mine, Joe Tizzard, he doesn't even bother trying to produce them at an obstacle, just sits there. Thomas also does well with hi sreins like washing lines, giving zero assistance from the saddle on the approach to, jumping of, and going away from, a fence.

Paul Townend is down to ride Hurricane Fly on Sunday with Patrick Mullins down for Cousin Vinny. Interesting that Ruby does not get on either! Fair play Mr Mullins.

That really doesn't make sense. If he wanted to be fair, surely he could have tossed a coin. Last chance to learn something in a competeive ride pre Cheltenham. If Pandorama short heads one of them, how clever will he look.

Edit: I was replying to Galileo - but that really, really doesn't make sense.

    Melendez,

Surely it makes a lot of sense? It says to me these are the most likely riders for each (certainly in the case of Townend), and he's giving both more experience of the respective horses.

What is says to me is he's being fair, giving up and coming talented riders their due rewards and that Ruby no longer has first choice.

Fair play to him for allowing Townend and Mullins to keep the rides right the way through the season.

That said, if I was the owner of either, I would make it very clear I would want Ruby on board.

It's clear for all to see which one is the best Grey.
Hurricane Fly - whatever he runs in he wins

Itīs not all that clear. On known form itīs Hurricane Fly but Mr Mullins has been reluctant to say so.

In any case my remark was tongue in cheek.

I reckon people are under rating Cousin Vinny big time here. Hurricane Fly has been very impressive so far, but i dont think Cousin Vinny has done much wrong either.

It's not a race I'd consider having a bet in either way, will be a very interested spectator none the less.

Same as that, think il be keeping a watching brief in most races between now and the festival.

Was pretty impressed with the winner of the first at Sandown today though, could go well in the triumph...may chase Bradys home!!

It's all I could wish for to see Oliver lead Ebadiyan into that winners enclosure, some roar that'll be

Patrick and Cousin Vinny are inseparable-fact,nobody else gets near the horse by the sound of things.I heard Willie saying PM has done nothing wrong on the horse and why should he not ride it.
