Thread: If You Are Going Racing And Fancy Meeting

    OK, I'll start the ball rolling.

    It's probably easier to do it ony a few days (or possibly a week) in advance or it may get confusing if people advise they are going racing in 3 months time.

    Once you have posted you may receive PM's or notification via this thread from other people attending the same meeting just in case you feel like meeting up. It may be useful for those people you have not met before, even if it's for a quick chat, and maybe a drink before you go your seperate ways. I have met quite a few from this forum and it is great for those that may normally go alone to have a friendly face to look out for. It may also be useful if people can get hold of complimentary badges and others may able to get them at reduced prices etc

    Feel free to post whenever you are planning to go and just fancy meeting up with anyone else from TH that may also be attending.

    I am not scaremongering, but please don't assume just because they post on TH that they are not be a nutter so ensure you take the usual steps if you are meeting up with someone for the first time. Swap names and phone numbers and make sure someone knows who you are meeting and where. It may seem a bit OTT but we all know that nutters can masquerade under many guises and personalities when hiding behind a username on a forum. We also don't always know who is a female and who is a male, and peoples ages, so best just to be fairly certain you know a few facts about someone before meeting up. We wouldn't want a pretty 17 year old female meeting up with someone she thinks was of a similar age, and it turns out she's meeting up with Brian Hartigan. :shy:

    Seriously, in this day and age we can never be too sure. :suspect: I am glad to report that the 20 or so people I have met from this forum, all seemed to be sane - even Krizon.

    That's because I sent my twin sister, Hannah Ball-Lecter. Notice how one or two members don't post any more? About the same time as my stock of Chianti went down...

    It isn't fair to deny people golden opportunities.

    Maybe people should post up reviews of people they have met for people to check before 'booking' a meeting in order to avoid disappointment!!

    PS, Everyone thinks I'm a grumpy ######, but I dont give a ######! shrug::

    Good idea - we could all have a ratings system for our respective qualities (or lack of them), from 0-5 on Sense of Humour, Round Getter-In, Personal Appearance and Hygiene, Swearing Level, Wit, Useful Knowledge, Taking Loss in Good Heart, Not Showing-off When Winning, etc. We'd soon sort out the Banded forumite from the true Classic winner!

    Kathy, will due respect, I can't think of a more compelling reason for strongly suspecting that someone might very well be a nutter, than the one you describe.
    Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock. So long Holly. _ Harry Limes

    I know it's late but is anyone at House of the Fairies today? It's rumoured that Mr Delargy is putting in an appearance and he's asked me if anyone else is off there too!
