Ah...so you fell victim to the major plugs on the beeb then??!!!! :P
I've got quite a few good racing books; among the best I would say are Brad's, Woody's (although he did beat himself up quite a lot in it), Charlie Brooks' and The Duke's. Mrs P's was terrible; the recurring theme in that one was "poor me, poor me"!!!! Never mind that she ain't no angel herself.....

I have always wanted a copy of that Jack Leach book
No Dom not really there are few racing writers that write as elegantly and intelligently as O'Sullevan so I was alwya going to buy it .
Ok, fair enough! Let us know if it's any good, cheers

Sir P O'S and Lester were both at Longchamp last Sunday signing their new books.
It would seem to be a big-priced double indeed if you could get Lesters book and HK's Best Mate book and find them both UNSIGNED. Would be worth a fortune ! Are their any ?!
Any unsigned Best Mate books are worth ten times more than the signed ones...
Indeed it has been barely possible to go NH hunt racing since BM's 2nd Gold Cup and not hear of where we can go to get our Best Mate books signed, usually followed by the superfluous, here ,at Sandown, today.
Sorry , just felt the need to have a pop at racecourse announcers, here ,at Kempton , this afternoon.
I read Horse of a Different Coulour on holiday, great book about the small time breeder who struck gold (well grey) but you know what i mean.

I've just read 'Days Like These-Education of A Racing Lover' by Jamie Reid. It tells the tale of him falling in love with racing, and how ever since racing has played a major part in his life, a failed gamble at Haydock, and Cheltenham on the day Dawn Run won her Gold Cup. I'd recommend this to anyone, in fact I've just ordered another book by him from Amazon.

Triptych-A licence to print money and Emperors of the Turf are two good reads from JR.
A licence to print money is the one I've just ordered from Amazon. I'll keep a look out for the other, thanks.

Ian Carnaby has a book to be published in early December."Not Minding That It Hurts" is a wry look back at Ian's punting carrer with some amusing tales thrown in. Anyone who remembers Ian's weekly column in The Sporting Life will know how funny some of his stories can be. Might be worth a look.
I shall certainly look out for Ian Carnaby's book. As Diver knows, Ian is not only a good judge (especially of sprint handicappers) and an amusing writer, he's also a great movie buff.
