Very nice, Merlin. I should imagine you've had to swat a few wasps this summer though.

TRYPTICH thanks, surprisingly not as many as in the past few years.........

I actually related that horror story with regards wasps from 3 yrs ago now, they had nested in my next door neighbours chimney pot and used to come out in her bedroom........ a real nightmare..... as these houses had a fireplace in each bedroom when built 70 yrs ago, but someone made a hash job of sealing it off in their house ...........

They seem to nest in the locality they were in a annex under the flat roof last year two doors down I did not inform the girl living there as she never complained of them entering her rooms.............

Living in a flat in Gib, I can't say that gardens are something I come across very often, unfortunately!! When I was in the UK, my garden was somewhat of a nature reserve - that was my excuse at least!!! I was erm...cultivating it for the lions & tigers that liked to live in the 5ft grass......

Been a bloody nightmare this year, if the flowers haven't been blown to bits by gales, they've been flattened by the ferocity of the rain. The grass has grown though, do they do a lawn mower with paddles?

    Not many wasps about though.

D/G my grass has got to be 8" deep in places and I cut it 3 weeks? ago but yes its not a patch on last years summer!!

I will hopefully be able to get at it very soon and start planting winter stock (miniature daffs muscari & crocus all in containers, planters, baskets) I have filled 6 black bags of old plants already that went out last Thursday bin day.......................

Be better for your next door neighbour to grow his rice in........... this weather, I not going to incriminate myself by putting paddy!!!! fields on here someone may just take umbrage.............

I HATE upon HATE hanging baskets!!!! Dont know why - but the only ones I've ever seen that I remotely like are the ones at Market Rasen - they are huge. Think I must have a hatred of the namby pamby ones that seem to reside down here, and take it out on all the rest......
My garden looks OK at the minute -just bought loads of pansies and daff bulbs to go in pots, and a tray of smelly something or other for by the front door.

One day I'll get round to putting them in.......

Crikey, MarkEE - that's pretty impressive!!! I'm not very talented when it comes to gardening - to date I have managed to kill 3 yukka plants, countless of other plants & loads of cactii!!
