Ok, what are your personal all time classic albums? I mean classics too, not just good albums. Mine woud have to be -

    Pink Floyd - The Wall
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
    R.E.M. - Out Of Time
    U2 - The Joshua Tree

    B)

Out of Time is a good album , Pink Floyd is OK but overrated - Dire Straits , their dirges are summed up by the first word of their name U2 the most overrated band of all time

Great albums? Dire Straits? I hated the Floyd.

It depends what mood I'm in really.

The older CD's which I play the most are probably:

    London Calling - Clash
Automatic for the People - REM
    Morning Glory - Oasis

Without doubt the best album by a single artist I have, or am ever likely to have, is Money for nothing by Dire Straits. But that's a greatest hits album so it wouldn't really count. In my experience most albums never have more than 3 or 4 decent tracks, so I can't nominate a single one.

Saw PF perform The Wall at Earls Court, amazing stuff especially the guitar solo by Dave Gilmour picked out by a searchlight on top of the wall during Comfortably Numb. You have to get into the whole concept to appreciate the album but lets face it, millions did although the film didn't do it justice. Definitely a classic album.

Dark Side of the Moon too in it's time.

My favourite album of all time is

    Divine Comedy - Promenade

Other than that PDJ's first two above are amazing.

Pixies - Surfer Rosa deserves inclusion.

I'm sure I read somewhere that there was an Irish band providing funds to the IRA in the 1980's. Not sure what effect this would have had on their music.

    Moby - Play
    David Gray - White Ladder
