In mine, too, Desert. She was a bit taken off her heels when the pace picked up over 2fur out, but Ryan Moore kept her at it and she finished quite strongly to less than a length behind the winner. Up a couple of furlongs tomorrow which is good for her first handicap, but I’m not enamoured by the return to AW. Not much chance for anything else if you're looking for decent ground, though.

Like the form, stiff track will suit, and SMS has a 39% strike rate. Makes sense to me, BJ.

Fascinating race. Will report back with my two cents under advice from someone smarter than me.

There is nothing wrong with the Stoute filly but Daramethos could be very well handicapped off 85. Newcastle is a funny track these days. This race wouldn't be out of place at Newmarket on a Saturday.

Hmm, a wee bit of an 'educational' there for the filly.

We might need to track this race based on the form of the tracking race...

Let Lizzy down for the treble there...betting would suggest she wasn't trying!

Mmm, main objective was to find out if she got the distance? Seemed ok with that. I’ll stay with her when she’s on grass.

Lightly-raced winner. 1 win from 2 runs this year. 3/1, career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good to soft) 26 days ago, slowly away. Others more persuasive. [3 stars]

Took a huge step forward when making it 3-3 for the year in listed contest at Newmarket 5 weeks ago, coming clear as his rider pleased. This trip bound to suit and he's a colt of huge potential. (4 stars)

Promising individual. 1 win from 2 runs this year. Won 9-runner maiden (4/6) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 16 days ago, pushed out. Should improve and go close. (4 stars)

Might be worth the ew double.

I mentioned this on the bet thread re the Bullace race at Newmarket and the London Gold Cup handicap. Basically looking for early season 3yo handicaps where the winner is a group horse and the frame horses are therefore all worth following. Another to add to that list is the Windsor race Save a Forest won first time out. The third went in at Lingfield earlier at 8/1. The second has also gone in since.

Second career win when shading a tight finish at Salisbury (1žm, good) last month. 5 lb rise demands further progress up against some progressive sorts now. (3 stars)

3rd 11/2 (but only seven runners). Didn't back it.

Both Professional Widow and Riknnah are engaged in the Sandringham, both drawn high and both being nibbled at in the betting (both were longer when I checked late last night). I'm backing both against the field and the Exacta might be worth a pop.
