The filly was looked after. The race probably came too soon. Too early to be writing either her or the race off.

Strawberri is far better value at 7/2 for her race at Chelmsford (8.15) tomorrow than Delta-thingy (which I didn't back) was for that race today. Probably has the Shadwell one to beat but I've had a pop at the price.

The first was a mile 3yo fillies' maiden race, the second a modest 10f 3yo hcap, the types of races I'd normally shy away from like Rifleman.
    ...

I reckon the latter race, won by a Shadwell horse from a Godolphin, will be particularly important in lots of middle-distance hcaps in the coming weeks.
The winner of the latter race is out tomorrow. It's a Listed race so up in class and it's 6/4. Not for me.

Well, it went off 2/1 and beat the odds-on Godolphin favourite by five lengths. I didn't even look at the race but am content enough with the decision.

The 2nd and 3rd from that same race both run tomorrow. Different races. Both 5/4 overnight. Looks like I wasn't the only one who rated that form.

One won the other second and neither a real boost for the Haggas/Shadwell horse, at least not for its Derby hopes.

From the fillies' race the sixth runs tomorrow but is evens fav. Another I'm happy to let go.

Just picked up my own tracker alert for it. There's been money for it at 3/1 but it looks like there's even more money for the favourite.

Timeform give it their five stars and reckon it will 'take all the beating'. Knowing my luck it will take the same kind of beating as Ontario.

The last thing I would worry about is what Timeform thinks of a horse. A lot of kids working there now.

Yes, but if they give anything a very strong mention it tends to affect the price, is the point I'm trying to make.

I had a disaster of a day and not backing that hasn't helped. I thought it was the real future betting horse to take out of both races because of the draw.

Not one of the horses from the basis of this thread but I got a tracker alert through for it this evening:

Wetherby 5.50 Secret Moment 9/1 - it looks like bin Suroor has found a good opening for this one. It carries the second colours but I'm not letting that put me off. This is a 4yo that was showing promise last summer but ended up missing the second half of the season after being gelded following his final run. At this time of year I'm averse to 3yos against their elders and 13 of this field of 16 are 3yos. The horse has been given plenty of time and the trainer has a very decent strike rate overall when he sends them to northern tracks. I've taken the wuss route, though, and gone each-way. I'm hoping a win will move it up the ratings enough to get into a decent handicap.

Another of the Newmarket tracker horses out tomorrow but probably not worth backing at 8/15:

You have 1 horse that has been declared to run.
Race: EBC Group Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Div 2)
Your comment: 4th nwm apr mile mdn fast time
Shamardal filly who is bred to be useful and showed a good deal of ability when beaten just over a length in fourth in 1m Newmarket maiden on debut in April. Big player with improvement on the cards.

Well-bred filly who has shown plenty in a couple of maidens at up to 10f this season, coming from a little further back than the pair that finished in front of her at Chelmsford. Can do even better. (4 stars)

At 2/1 I might be tempted but haven't checked the card yet.

Thrice-raced maiden. 13/2, third of 9 in maiden at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) 41 days ago. Makes handicap debut and longer trip will suit. Can improve. (4 stars)
