Bringitonboris improved during 2020 when winning a total of three races over a mile or thereabouts. He started this year off a mark in the 70s, and his best run to date, where he really caught the eye, was at York in May, when finishing fourth, just a head behind future Royal Ascot scorer and group placer, Highfield Princess.

If you look at that run in isolation, then Bringitonboris ran a stormer and could yet be very well treated in the handicap. After several mediocre performances since, he's had a wind operation and a fairly decent break off the track.

He's entered up for two races this Tuesday, one being the Scottish Cup at Hamilton, (a place where trainer and owner connections have won a few races already this season with stablemate Euro Implosion), and one at Carlisle over a shorter distance of seven furlongs.

I'm hoping he goes for the class three at Hamilton as I think that I'd back him after the wind operation, especially given that excellent form with Highfield Princess.

I thought I'd post this before I forget.
See where/if they decare for Tuesday tomorrow.

Having looked again he does have better form over 7F, so the class four at Carlisle might be his best chance.

He was also entered earlier today in a race at Newcastle next Friday.

Sounds like he’s champing at the bit to go then, marb.

    Indeed, Barjon.

Did you see Marks Choice win at Ripon today?

The recent wind operation worked its magic with him.

Hopefully do the same for Bringitonboris!

Boris goes in the better race at Hamilton on Tuesday.

Early thoughts...some in form horses in there and one or two likely improvers, which should ensure Boris starts a fair each way price.

I think Hills do the first four places online if there's at least 12 runners.

He's drawn in stall one which is a plus.

I'll have 20 each way on for an interest.

    JAZZ CLUB

    Windsor 16 August
British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes (GBB Race)
    6f, Class 4, £5,400
    Going: Good To Firm

Jazz Club had run pretty green in his first two runs, although he seemed to get to grips with it late on last time. This time he jumped out smartly and led the charge winning quite comfortably, with plenty in hand (seemingly). He’s got more to give I think.

Manigordo (6.40L) baulked coming out of the stalls was out the rear, until finishing well for 3rd.
Could find a similar race soon, hopefully on quick ground.

    NICKLEBY

    1:15 Newbury 17 Jul 2021
bet365 EBF Novice Stakes (GBB Race) (Colts & Geldings)
    (Class 5) (2yo) 6f Good To Firm

Had a bit of market support - 10/1 to 7/1 - and ran with much promise up in the van until the sharp end and ran very green to finish 5th/17.

    2:30 Salisbury 11 Aug 2021
Byerley Stud British EBF Novice Stakes (GBB Race) (Div II)
    (Class 4) (2yo) 6f Good
    1st £5,400 2nd £2,535 3rd £1,268 4th £634

Again ran green, but finished well into 3rd/10. Another promising run.

    5:00 Wolverhampton (AW) 25 Aug 2021
St Leger On Sky Sports Racing Restricted Novice Stakes (Bands B, C and D) (GBB Race)
    (Class 4) (2yo) (6f20yds) 6f Standard
    1st £8,612.99 2nd £4,043.33 3rd £2,022.46 4th £1,011.23

For all the world this switch to the all weather looked like a “get his handicap” run. He bowled along at the front until the sharp end when he was headed a furlong out to finish 3rd/7 without being given a hard time.

He hasn’t collected his rating yet, but as long as the handicapper isn’t too severe I think Hills will have something workable. Maybe up a bit in trip, back on turf with good going, Buick doing the steering and an early price that’s snapped up…………..

    SHOAL BAY

To get us in the mood for the jumps (sorry, reet)

    5:00 Worcester 1 Sep 2021
MansionBet Bet £10 Get £20 Handicap Chase
    (Class 3) (0-140, 4yo+) 2m7f Good 16 fences
    1st £5,881.68 2nd £2,709.72 3rd £1,354.32 4th £678.24

Poor old Shoal Bay. Four lengths ahead going into the last 110yds when the saddle slipped and abruptly deposited Brendan Powell into the rail (good job it was plastic). Talk about unlucky, but perhaps there’s a silver lining since he’s an easy winner without penalty assuming the handicapper can’t put him up much. Ran off 133 and that’s got to be a very handy mark.
