    BHA sets out roadmap

How long would it take to check or even vaccinate the owners of Cheltenham runners? They support racing and the BHA are prepared to rob 20 plus owner of the hghlight of their raing lives.....Imagaine winning the QMCC e.g and watching it at home cheering at a TV screen........The worst thing about it if I am understanding thing a week after Chelteham they intend to allow 100's of thousands of spectators to return

It takes @ 22 days for immunity to kick in so even if people were vaccinated now they wouldn’t be safe (ish) till after Cheltenham week.

How long would it take who exactly to vaccinate them?

Why should owners come before everyone else left in the system?! That’s just ridiculous.

    BHA sets out roadmap

Wow. That’s possibly one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever read on here - and over the years that’s going some.

at curreent rates too long due to age.....which makes that idea silly but no sillier than them saying 2 weeks later they are lifting the ban...but I reckon 90% of owners would probably go if testing was available

The BHA don't control who gets vaccinated and that seems to have been lost in your logic.

They are not “opening-up to 100,000s of spectators” two weeks after the Festival, Fist.

Elite sport stadiums may be allowed up to 10,000 spectators from mid-May, but that is 100% conditional on the venue meeting a shedload of Entry, in-stadia, and Exit safety-criteria.

Your original premise is all over the place, pal.

I think that it's absolutely right and proper that owners be at the head of the queue for readmission but surely not given preferential treatment for vaccination. However, as someone who had the jab over 3 weeks ago, I wouldn't be going to the Gold Cup myself unless attendance was limited to those who had also had the jab or had proof of a negative test within the previous 72 hours.

if any owner were to draw stumps and walk away from the game because they couldn't skip the queue to be vaccinated so they can have a day out at cheltenham, when they can still watch their horse on the tv, then i don't think horse racing will miss them particularly

and i doubt any of them think they should be getting one anyway

Having a go with nothing constructive?

at the rate vaccinations are happening there will be another 12-13 million or so people from the UK done which is another 12-13 million people becoming far less risk of overflowing the hospitals, leaving room for the people who do catch it and need hospital treatment.

I’m still at a loss why racehorse owners should be prioritised over people who will actually benefit from the vaccination. I’m sure that you could suggest it to the NHS but I’m also pretty sure what the response will be!

They aren't opening up racing to all by the 29th, the earliest spectators will be back is May 17th

Why? I couldn’t care less who they let in and when, I’m certainly not the person getting their knickers in a knot over it because their very strange idea wouldn’t ever happen as DG had pointed out above, it wasn’t ever going to be opened to everyone - it’s been clear from the start.

It will be done in the way they think is the safest. A few more weeks and people
Will be able to go back, providing everything goes how it should.
