That's because he'd become respectable by 2017 and was sent better broodmares in 2018. It always works. Personally I blame you Colin, you were banging on in 2013/4 about what a good sire he was.

KODIAC proving that he doesn't just produce duds these days with Mytilda winning the nursery at Musselburgh yesterday, at the pleasing odds of 25/1.
Ah! but a man's reach should exceed his grasp......

He's still very good but his mares are more staying types since 2018. Still gets plenty of good 2yos though.

Plenty of 2yo races this week but unless I missed one (or two) could only see Saturday's winner Galileo Glass (by Galileo Gold), trained by Holland, winning at Doncaster.

Galileo Gold's success follows the Night of Thunder story closely. A forgotten 2000G winner, who raced as a 4yo and then quietly retired to stud.

European Top First Season sires Irish Field Sat last
    1 Cotai Glory

    4 Ardad
    5 Galileo Gold.

Euro Top two year old sires
    1 Mehmas

I see Recorder is the leading FSS in France if judged by winnings. He's had 4 winners there.

A double for Ulysses as Implore wins for Gosden at Beverley and Aeonian (25-1 !!!) wins for Stoute at Yarmouth
Ardad gets another winner with Eidikos for Bethel at Beverley.

Got a nagging feeling I've missed an El Kabeir winner

Having loved a mare that was persistently run on the wrong ground over the wrong distance, ratings are meaningless.

Also very annoyed by Hoiles' comment at the weekend with the stallion tables saying Ardad 'punching very much above his weight' .
