Yes, CdO had a tough race in heavy ground, and he's not one of those big boned old fashioned chasing types that recovers well. His type tend to take a bit of time to recover from a hard race. For me I couldn't back him despite him being a dual winner.
Also I agree, surely others will make sure it's a proper test to see if Cyrname stays. Nicholls has Frodon and Real Steel entered too, but surely he won't run four?! I wonder if Frodon will be held back for something else?
I can't have Lostintranslation after such a shocking run last time and his run in this last year, particularly with Tizzards horses all over the place with their form at the moment. I know they gave him the breathing op after the race last year and he ran well in the Gold Cup, but how could you touch him after Haydock.
I have Cyrname in a couple of multiples but wouldn't back him in a single given he's likely to be a **** or bust.
I've backed Saint Calvados each way long range and have him for the Gold Cup too, but I want to get something else onside too. Allaho and Monalee would be of interest of they came over, but I suspect neither will, and I'd be all over the Storyteller if I knew he was coming over. I'm just waiting for any kind of news so i can jump on a price.

Didn't De Bromhead say Monalee was likely to come over for this Maruco?
All comers, all grounds, all beaten!
This perfect mix of poetry and destruction.
If he did I missed is Frankel. If you can remember where you saw it can you pop a link up? Cheers.
Excellent, thanks. I missed his earlier price but the 12/1 with 365 has been winking at me for a few days when his price dropped a week or so ago.
Is there a forfeit stage today?
Betfair market currently suspended.

16 left in at latest forfeit stage. All of the main suspects still in play.
Of those left, Mullins has three but surely only sends one max (?), Vinndication is apparently on the easy list, Simply The Betts and Al Dancer have other targets in December, and Black Op I have down as a marginal runner too, so I reckon it’s a 10-runner job max.
I’ve taken the 33/1 about The Storyteller, as he wants to go right-handed, and this is surely a better option for him than Leopardstown.

What makes you say the Storyteller wants to go RH Nick, I agree his Leopardstown form is below par but I wouldn't have him down to a particular track direction.
I'm not the slightest bit concerned about the race Clan had at Haydock. Since he was sent chasing in 2016 his best performance each season has come on his second run back so despite Nicholls' words of encouragement heading into Haydock the horses clearly needs a run to get 100%
I won't get rich backing him at 5/2 but I'm grateful to Cyrname for allowing him to be such odds against and I'd hope for slightly bigger on the day too.
Alcohol, because no good story ever started with "I was eating this salad..."
Clans best ever performance came after he was sent hunting ridden by Will Biddick over the huge Blackmore & Sparkford Vale hedges. That got him buzzing! You’d be surprised how it can rejuvenate a horse.

Decision on Saint Calvados’s participation expected this coming weekend.
Whittington reports he had four days away at the equine hospital and 10 days on the easy list recovering from sepsis, but is now “back cantering and seems in good form”.

Sepsis in horses takes some getting over. It's hard to think he's going to be at his best at Christmas.
At the odds I'll let the bet run if he goes there, but I won't be expecting too much.
I have no doubt in my mine Cyrname will win the King George this time
He ran a stinker last season after his clash with Altior a match he should have left for a later date
Wetherby is one of he easier tracks but you still need to stay.
Unless the KG ends up being run in a bog 5/2 looks great value
