Does anyone have any idea as to the well
being of Angels Breath ? I haven't seen any mention of him in Nicky Henderson's stable tours.

Annie put a photo of him up on Twitter a few days ago, I don’t recall her saying anything’s not going as expected...

That's great news and a lovely pic too !
Thanks so much for swift response
Lol, I keep a vague eye out because I really like him - she’s not said anything more than that, but I very much doubt she would do, im pretty sure she would have said if things weren’t going ok though. ( within reason!)

Sure, I follow your thinking - looks hopeful. Love the horse....what an athlete ....!
Out of Cheltenham according to the stable tour.
It was a serious injury; at the time (late last December) they said out for at least a year: https://www.racingpost.com/news/ange...-injury/414841
Real shame as he looked to have such a bright future. I just do not understand why trainers don’t run horses in front boots to protect themselves from such injuries. A severed tendon is virtually impossible to come back from but had he been wearing reinforced boots, it would have been avoidable. I know some trainers think boots overheat the leg but there are boots available that have air flow through them which are ideal.

Well if it makes the difference to a horse slicing through it’s front tendons or not, then I know which I would choose! When I was at college we ran a hurdler and she sliced through both students who had taken her racing (obviously she didn’t come home) were pretty traumatised by what they witnessed. There are some pretty dumb trainers out there that get a notion into their heads and refuse to look into it.

Cracker Jak of Suzy smith’s struck into himself during his race today and was put to sleep. He wore boots. You’ve got no guarantees if they wear them or not unfortunately - boots can move, slip or get lost in races, it’s just the luck of the draw.
Having said that, I’d wager far more horses are saved serious injury by wearing them then Arent.

I used to use the ones with the reinforced metal down the back and also taped them on good and proper. Never had one move with any of the pointers we ran. But do accept they could move. Rather take the chance using them than not. One thing I wouldn’t use is bandages especially when it’s wet. Saw a fall in the US when a loose bandage brought down the horse and the exercise rider was paralysed as a result.
