And the best race AF ran in as a hurdler he probably covered 50 yards more than any other horse.
To my eye anything in front of AF is a hinderance Euro. He'd **** up in an Ascot Gold Cup though!

I've managed to cash out my Shan Blue - RSA - each way bet. I backed him before his boxing day win, thinking the RSA would be his target.

Fair play to Bet 365, who made a decent cash out offer, which given the trainer said he's unlikely to run in the RSA, I thought was more than fair.

You go back ten years or so, and the anti-post betting landscape was so different, almost vile or criminal how unfair it was.

At least you stood a chance of getting a decent ante-post price 10 years ago

There are still opportunities every year. You just have to be prepared commit before they’ve run - something that’s especially true of novice chasers.

The prices that they offer, (excluding betfair and the exchanges), are clearly a subjective issue though, Viking.

Anti post markets/prices will always court controversy for one reason or another.

Some will claim that you can't get a fair price while others will think the opposite.

I've been the first to critisise bookmakers over the years, whether it was Lord Donohue giving advice to government while on consultancy fees from bookmakers, to anti post prices or whatever else.

However, I'm happy to acknowledge good offers or bookmaker developments when they arise. I think the cash out option on anti post bets is a positive initiative.

always irks me every year when a horse, particularly a novice chaser, comes out and wins well in a poor race and people moan the odds are clipped when they've "beat nothing"

    they totally miss the point

Next Destination is in the right hands but wonder what exact % of his promise he retains

Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

    Hilarious

Race of the season lasting 1 fence. I weren’t impressed with Envoi either

Things come easier to some than others

Envoi is very clinical and you know the horse and jockey didn't touch on his potential today

He went down. He came back. Nothing else of significance.

I wasn't quite expecting that when I said this!

It turned into a nothing race. Envoi Allen had a spin, did it efficiently, jumped well, quickened up and finished well when asked. He's still got four legs, and will win the Marsh.

Was a shame as it would have been good to see how it would have panned out. Jumping name of the game though.

That said, the winner rocks up and does his job. Next!
