Lingfield announced their virtual Cheltenham preview lineup earlier. Had an email which started...
“We are delighted to announce that former assistant trainer to Paul Nicholls, Dan Skelton, will be on the panel!”
I suppose they’re not lying

Alcohol, because no good story ever started with "I was eating this salad..."

Was just playing around with a few databases and reports out of boredom and couldn't help but notice that Gordon Eliiot seems to have timed his horses form spot on, after a relatively quite start to the year, but if you look at the last 7 days, small sample size I know, where either Jack kennedy or JJ Codd have been riding he has an incredible 55% win rate and a 91% place - 11 runners, 6 winners and 10 places. I think it is obvious that he doid not target the DRF and everything has been geared to March. Might be value in a few of their runners that ran when the stable wasnt firing.

SW-C is always a positive for me, especially in chases.
He's as good as any bang average pro and still gets a claim.

Illegitimi non carborundum
I think he could actually win 6, but 4 is probably more realistic. I reckon a whole bunch of places to go with those wins as well.
Hurdles - Boodles (1-2-3), Pertemps (Teh Booses Oscar, Dallas des Pictons), Pipe (take your pick), and possibly the Coral Cup if Column of Fire goes there. Also I like Eclair de Beaufeu for the County, but I'd be less bullish.
Chases - The Kim Muir (Run Wild Fred), and possibly The Plate (Farclas).
His very best chances are in the hurdles, and I think despite having really good chances, his handicap chasers might find one too good.
I hear there's some sort of basic watering going on, trying to find out more.
"The owls are not what they seem"
Light watering to promote grass growth when the weather's mild and sunny is good.
I just worry that he goes for 'soft' somewhere in the description for the opening day. The water table must surely be quite high still given the winter we had.

Guys, are we going to have 1 thread a day for each day at Cheltenham asking what we've backed etc?
Or do we think someone could start a thread now, suggesting members stick what live bets they have for the festival?
Maybe each member can update as they see fit if they back anymore?
Always nice to see who is on what etc.
Only live bets. Lets not start listing bets that aren't running because they were anti post etc.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Yep. There will be each day of the meet
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done
I think I have gone overboard this year. So many multiples.
Bet 365 have cut about 5 horses for the Ryanair in the last hour or two.
Maybe it's a sign they'll be going NRNB on some more races like the Ryanair fairly soon.
I don't know.

They did at about two hours ago. Nrnb bog.

I thought that must have been why, Paul.
Although according to my oddschecker the NRNB tick hasn't appeared yet. I'm sure it will soon.

Never forget his first Cheltenham win. Unfancied by most but thought to be a near certainty by John Quinn and Co at Bellwood Cottage where I spent many a summer. The lads and other owner lumped on at 25/1 20/1 16/1 it was like all our birthdays came at once....You will never see a better witing ride ever. Codd had me so relaxed during the race despite for political reasons the never to be known amounts won....Best Amatuer I ever saw just made you ooze with confidence when the cash was down
