Btw, if you're interested, betting goes 1/50 Carson, 12/1 Foster......

I think the 12/1 Foster is a bit skinny - at least he is a Geordie arse.

    Carson should hack-up.

I've voted for the big BF: the man goes on and on and on, droning in that deadly monontone, for hours. He became hysterical to the point of foaming at the mouth when de Lima, the Brazilian bronze medallist, was harried by the drunken Irish ex-priest (if you're going to get harried, harriers don't come better equipped for the job than that). On and on and on about how disgraceful, appalling, disgusting, how it had totally ruined Athens' attempts at security, blah, blah, blah. At that point I dearly wished for a whole cathedral-load of drunken Irish ex or current priests to carry him away bodily, and permanently. He is a crashing bore with absolutely NO sense of humour or wit. At least wee WC cackles with glee occasionally, frightening as it is to witness.

Oh I have to agree with Krizon . Firstly , during the womens marathon he willed the leader into the ground after she's passed Paula ."ohh you can just see her wobbling , Oh dear it doesn't look good , dear dear she really is going to collapse any minute " I can't describe his mens marathon coverage any more succinctly than Jon has already done Craig Doyle took a battering but I don't think he deserved it yet no one picked up on Foster . Can I vote twice . Pleeese

As soon as you knew Paula was beat he started hammering on about how the conditions had beat her and said in so many words how the best person had lost because of the heat and undulations of the course . Sorry but its the Olympic marathon and the other competitors faced the same rigours . I know I'm Irish but I was supporting Paula . I was just really offended by his obvious bias in the face of reality . Unacceptable for the BBC who suposedly pride themselves on objective coverage . The closing ceremony irked me too because we had 2 hrs of close ups on the British team where you might have wanted to see medal winners from other countrys . I did'n't see the Irish team once

The BBC athletics coverage was a joke -inarticulate ex athletes like Gunnell ( what happened to Roger Black i wonder ) Barker twittering on showing she knows feck all about anything but tennis , the commentators were always a joke Coleman Pickering Storey but they are even worse now Foster is a worthy opponent for Carson his moronic interventions send me round the bend - Steve Cram is OK I think

I can't see how Foster is worse than Carson.

It is true that he was fairly dire during the marathon but can you imagine Carson twittering away non-stop for 150 minutes? Ron Pickering used to waffle away with stuff like "Huge crowds....Great scenes" every five minutes. You must run out of things to say in the end.

Carson doesn't have that excuse does he?

Those criticising the BBC's coverage of the Olympics should be grateful that they are able to watch the games with such wall-to-wall programming. I have been in the USA while a games was on. Not only do you not see any event which does not contain an American competitor, but it usually has to be one in which he/she has winning chances. Even though the amount of live TV time devoted to the games is about a quarter of that in Britain, the news coverage of events without any US involvement is minimal too.

I'd be interested in hearing from Irish members whether they watched the games on RTE or BBC.

    Fair play to Foster though.

Carson is a world class arse and he's given him a game.

Hasn't anyone got these arse's email addresses?

I think they need to be told there's a comp on - Thommo might want to tip himself on his rip-off line.
