    Meetings this weekend...Including July Cup.

We have been lucky lately to have seen the resurrection of forum posters Danny, Outsider and Bachelors Hall.

Some good races coming up from Thursday onwards. That is not forgetting the Summer Plate at Market Rasen, where I see former cliff horse Solomon Grey is entered up.

If his racing career is anything to go by he will be well backed leading up to the race only to get scratched a few hours before.

I cannot even remember why I was on to him in the first place. It must have been something he did in a handicap hurdle!

Maybe even Grasshopper will share his thoughts on Market Rasen. What about Nordican Bleue in the handicap hurdle?

An improving mare first time in a handicap hurdle. Could be chucked in off 124 for a trainer who has the know-how.

If like me you think both Serpentine and Love are two very good horses, but you feel we need to move on from that debate, join in on here.

There's an obvious bet in the Princess of Wales.

We are not psychic, Euro. Let it all out!

Surely Khalid Abdulla will be wanting the winner of the Sir Henry Cecil stakes? Tilsit at 5/1 anyone?

Rose Of Kildare ran a decent enough race in third behind Summer Romance and Cloak Of Spirits. She has good form at Newmarket and looks the bet in the Musidora at an excellent price.

I took 14's. My first one in a lucky 15 too. Chuffed.

Cheers. I have Nordican Bleue and Solomon Grey left running for me tomorrow at Market Rasen. The former is rated 124 which is high enough according to the sporting life, (I hope not!).

The latter will either confirm he is generally a slow horse or prove very well handicapped for a top yard. I am in with a chance of winning a decent amount. We shall see.

Another cracking day for me with five winners (yes hideous case of aftertiming but I do often bet as I see them and work out a case for them) - Dame Maillot, Al Aasy (really like this colt), Rose of Kildare (only sp but backed on strength of Jason’s remarks - well done Marbs for getting 14s), Al Suhail and Orbaan (French horse didn’t like quick groundlast time and O’Meara excels with this type). Wish I could nail that accumulator as it would have paid over £13k to £1.

Fascinating July Cup as you can make a case for several. I just loved Golden Horde at Ascot but Threat was fancied to win when they were first and second in the Richmond last summer and I wonder if Threat could bounce back after not staying in the SJP. Can’t rule out Hello Youmzain, Skeptical or Khaadem either. And I took 40s about Southern Hills ew as price was too big.

    GL Marb.
Hello Youmzain isn't much of a price, but he's already eon a Sprint Cup and a Diamond Jubilee & the ground will be more to his liking than it was in either of those.

I don't see any rain forecast today and with the times not being too bad it's likely to be verging on good by around 1500.

Maybe you're correct, Euro but the ground was officially changed to 'soft' prior to the last 2 yesterday and, hopefuily, enough moisture is retained today.

I hope not. I'm on Sceptical at a nice price (relative to what he is now) for the big race.
