    Calling betting 'marketeers'

With apologies if the terminology offends...

I meant to ask these questions earlier in the week.

What are the forces at work in the Ascot markets this week?

In what way are they different - if indeed they are - from normal markets?

    Are moves more easily identified?

Does it take less money to influence a move?

On-course, I suppose to an extent will will get round the ring about who is getting involved with which horse but are those kinds of moves identifiable when there are no on-course bookies or punters?

    Just curious.

The betting ring ceased being the market years ago. Betfair dictates and the Ascot early markets were very robust. Influential tipsters were struggling at times to move the prices. As you get closer to the race off the slghoritims really take over and the proper liquitidy enters the market.
