    We all know that Cummings bent the rules, but he did it in such as way that was not going to harm anyone. You can't let the great unwashed stray from the rules because that could well lead to disaster - therein lies the difference. It's wrong but it's understandable to 'us' ;-)

    Hi DO, I wouldn't expect everyone to agree with those words, hence the 'us' = people who can see why he did it. I'm no Tory fan btw, but can understand that he probably felt a sense of narcissistic entitlement , it's wrong but I can understand why he did it.
