With his nose for going right, he'll need a big ideology change

Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

He might have been 1/12 but there was plenty to like about that from Appreciate It.
Alcohol, because no good story ever started with "I was eating this salad..."

    Albert Bartlett looms.

Nice run from the runner up as well.

Flinteur Sacre entered (over 2m) at Newbury on Friday.

Nor me. He’ll have to redeem himself after that. It was very disappointing. I presume he must be feeling something though, as he showed none of that first time up.

Keskonrisk gets an entry over 2 miles at the weekend. Connections haven't been hiding what they think of him so I've added him to my antepost book at 50/1.

Finteur Sacre a see of blue on odds checker.

Ive checked to see if he’s been put up anywhere. Seems he’s been shortened from 16s to 12s on the basis of being declared to run at Newbury on Friday.

He’ll be even shorter after he wins at odds of 1/3 or whatever he opens up at.

May have a new Supreme favourite on Friday.

I backed him at 16/1 on the basis the hype will push his price down whatever he does at Newbury. I didn’t expect him to be cut to 12/1 before the race! To be clear I backed him for the trade, not because I believe he’s the winner of the Supreme, although if he runs particularly well at Newbury I might let some ride.

Gerraghty cant rave enough about him. There is literally very little to go off, so really judging on name and the hype.
If hype is anything to go off, I’d be keeping your 16/1. If he trots up round Newbury and wins a couple of other meaningless races on route, he’ll go off fav.

As well as the hype, there’s also his breeding, and his absolute saunter to win his second bumper.

OK, that form hasn’t necessarily worked out, nor has the form of his maiden bumper to be fair, but he is clearly held in significant regard by connections, and they generally know a good one when they see one.

I’m not one to go overboard about very-lightly-raced novices (unless they’re called Hurricane Fly), but I liked what I saw last time, and confess I did stick him in an each-way Festival multiple at 16/1 (Supreme) a few weeks back.

I’m hoping for big things on Friday.

When I was 14 years old I played football against George Bests younger brother he was shite. The RPR bumper rating is 20 points too high and if he's 3/1 on tomorrow I will most likely take him on especially against at least 3 quality opponents.

Had Bestie’s brother ever hacked-up with his head in his chest in a bumper though, Brian?

Ok he ran green in his first bumper in which the form has worked out very average . The second one he won easy giving weight to the 2nd but looking through the field Black Beauty would have been placed. He may become a top class performer and romp up tomorrow but I just think 16/1 is not good value at all especially before jumping a fence in public. He's got good competition tomorrow and if he has a comfortable win I will be asking for some of your 16/1

On the back of his brothers name I'm sure he's had his head in the chest of something Nick!

It's an appalling state of affairs that in recent years bookmakers are getting away with shortening AP prices for festival races before a horse has even had a trial race, rather as soon as it's declared for it. Considering they've already shortened it prior to that on the back of connections comments, in this case Gerraghty et al.

I've no problem with the shortening after a performance and even to an extent based on bullish reports, although these need to consider the trainer/jockey, as for example I'd probably lengthen one if NTD gave it a glowing report.

But in cases like this it's disgusting and even more so with Shishkin last week. He was max price of 7/2 before the 48 hour decs then you could barely get 3/1. The 7/4 after the race I can just about stomach but FFS, the pre-race cutting was/is a joke.

Rant over, where did you get that 12s Paul ?

P.S No matter how bad Best's brother was, he'd have probably run rings around George Weah's cousin and for anybody unfamiliar with the story, google it. Comedy gold.

16's when he was declared Lee. It disappeared pretty quickly afterwards.
