Flaggers increases his lead with Samcro's win today and (I think it's the first time since I started scoring this competition I have returned anything!) I move into second place thanks to Lisnagar Oscar (just wish I had done him in the winter tipping comp too!)

I'm really pleased to have won this competition which has been a feature of the forum for many years.

It has been won by a lot of people shrewder than me over the years and I am delighted to join the roll of honour.

A big thank you to those who have put up the prizes and to Grey, New Approach and Diamond Geezer for their hard work in running the competition.

As I understand it, Grey is holding £50 which viking left in the pot last year and frontrunner sponsored the other £50 after being volunteered by Maruco , I trust the relevant parties can make contact to make their own arrangements and that Perpetual and trudij have done the same for the most valuable portfolio prize.

Thanks to NewApproach for looking after the competition again, her spreadsheet is something to behold and to Grey for his advice and sponsorship of the Winter Comp of which this competition is one part, now who wins the other part, the TTF ?

That was very kind of Maurco, after this year I reckon he will sponsor the competition until 2050. The £50 Arthur is holding I believe is my prize for the first part of the competition last year so if Art could pass that over to Chronic Landlord that would save a lot of hassle. Well done Chronic! Absolutely gutted it got stolen from me last minute... Makes it worse that I’d backed Latest Exhibition! Can we have our own stewards enquiry as Monkfish clearly jumps across LE!! Not bitter at all lol.

Well done Chroniclandlord. That’s a fantastic effort. Flaggers and New Approach can think themselves unlucky when they also had excellent returns. And to be honest there was some shrewd selections and excellent returns all round by the look of it.

Slight amendment to the lower part of the leaderboard - the formulas in my spreadsheet don't cope well with 'without the favourite' bets (also I was so excited about Lisnagar Oscar winning that I didn't check it properly!) and so I had Euronymous with a return of £7000 which was invalid - sorry about that. The revised leaderboard is below

Congratulations chronic/Eamon on a great win. Having met you a number of times over the years I am well aware how knowledgeable you are about racing and that it was inevitable that you would win this competition some day.

Commiserations/congratulations on a fine effort to Flaggers and New Approach for making the frame.

And many thanks to DG/Roger and New Approach/Faye, who put in a big effort to run this competition so smoothly. My own role was very peripheral this time round.

The small number that made a return is evidence of how difficult it was this year so all the more credit to Chronic and the others on the Leaderboard.
