It looks damp, but any locals got able to provide a weather report ahead of the weekends racing?

Very wet here in Cheltenham, reports of snow in the hilly areas

    Update from racecourse

Following heavy rainfall overnight, there will be a precautionary inspection at 3pm today ahead of tomorrow's raceday.

It's been very heavy since about 8 last night with no sign of it easing.
I've just seen they've announced a precautionary inspection at 1500 for tomorrows card.
I can see them abandoning tomorrow to try and save the weekend and give the course time to drain.

If of any relevance to anyone, Tattersalls Sale will go ahead even if racing is off.

Thanks both and would be understandable but heart-breaking if tomorrow’s called off, as have been going to the Countryside day for what feels likes a lifetime…

Whilst I hold that killing living creatures for sport is abhorrent nonetheless I too enjoy the sights and sounds of Countryside Day. The hunt horses and dogs, all immaculately prepared, are an awesome sight. We generally walk amongst the dogs and they are superbly conditioned beasts. I’d love to bring one home though our springer would not appreciate it.

Just been up for a look, standing water, lots of it. Personally can't see it being on tomorrow. Hope I'm wrong.

3:00 PM inspection tomorrow for Saturday's card and if there's standing water now and showers forecast between now and then Saturday has to be as serious risk.

    Bumper card on Sunday ?
Alcohol, because no good story ever started with "I was eating this salad..."

If anyone can find out when (if?) the 2 mile handicap chase gets rescheduled please post on here. Cheers.

Only 7 were declared...really like the look of Vengeur De Guye.

Just the Ballymore trial (to Saturday) and Cross Country (to Sunday) being re-scheduled from Friday.
The older I get the better I was.

Surprised the Steel Plate novices chase hasn't been re-scheduled

Looking at the state and forecast I very much doubt there’ll be any racing st Cheltenham this weekend
