    Stewards at Ascot Saturday

Apologies as this probably doesn't warrant a whole thread to itself, but couldn't find someone else appropriate to ask:
how the hell did Swindler keep the race yesterday at Ascot, and places remain unaltered? A jockey and horse could have been seriously injured/killed? Absolute joke.
Does anyone have the stewards report I could read please? Thank you

Thank you. I can't see how they think it didn't improve his position over other runners? He effectively took 2 out who had a chance to catch him and denied another a possible place.

So what did people make of the Ascot steward's decision yesterday, if you haven't seen it, here's the video from Sky Racing Twitter feed

I was on Connor Castle so I’ll be biased.

I know DO always posted Diego on here, hopefully he’ll have been on him yesterday.

So Capeland gets DQ and the winner keeps it.

It could have been different if they hadnt been both Nicholls's horses

Not really sure how Cieran Fallon kept a race on one of Godophins (forgotten name...Global something maybe). Looked like the runner up was coming to win the race up the rails and was pretty deliberately blocked in his tracks. It appears that if you interfere, interfere good and proper, allowing you to win by 2-3l and you'll be fine.

Agree, the runner up was finishing strongly and surprised Fallon only got 3 days

Highly unlikely given how the rules are.

I'm assuming Capeland couldn't be raised a few pounds aswell!

Think DDC just about jumped through the fence (its arguable) and Capeland definitely didnt. I think it was the right call.

Given the rules I agree. Clearly wrong though.

I don't understand why the winner wasn't DQd however. He forced the other one out through the wing!!

They had no choice but to disqualify Capeland, who was the unlucky one.
Looks like Diego jumped the fence with his front legs but not his back legs.
