My bet on Ickworth was not refunded but I don't see why it should be. If the horse refuses to race, how can you argue that it might have won?

I accept that it shouldn't be refunded but if other bookies are doing so as a goodwill gesture then it looks a bit stingey for Ladbrokes (and any others) not to so I'd rather give the others my custom. Refunds in these circumstances are usually more about PR than anything else.

You're right, provided you're getting the same odds as you would elsewhere.
The exchanges don't make such refunds and nor should they in my opinion, because it would mean unfairly taking a slice off winning bets.
Ryan Moore on Fleeting - discuss.

And that small head knew that Impaire Et Passe would win the Champion Hurdle."
Frankie is in brilliant form, though.

They have slashed the prices on his last two which means there will be value elsewhere, if I knew where to look.

Stradivarius superb there - Dettori riding beautifully but all the puff and bilge from Oli Bell ,Rishi and Chamberlain very annoying.
Lester rode 4 winners on Gold Cup day in 1979 not sure if anyone has ridden more .
If I were a layer of horses, I'd be laying as much as possible at around 4.0 Turgenev in the 30 runner Brittania. Some cowardly bookies as short as 2/1
Alcohol, because no good story ever started with "I was eating this salad..."
You need a strong stomach to be a layer at the 5.4 currently available on betfair.Speaking as someone who laid a friend a euro at 100/1 on Anthony Van Dyck for Epsom after the Lingfield Derby Trial.
Pablo Escobarr can go very close on Friday.
James Doyle has five very good each way chances aswell.
Hopefully I'll be eating some salmon tomorrow.

Thought I'd share this. I started today with £6.66 in my Betfair account. I ended up with £135 after backing the last two winners.
I reckon the devil was on my side today.
And long may it continue!
