Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done
A nice race for the time of year, and a bit different to this time last year. The corresponding race only had one runner and was a walkover for a Dan Skelton horse.
Nube Negra fairly impressive there, a horse I’ve followed for a while. Placed at Cheltenham a couple of years back in one of the juvenile races I think.
One I want to see is Itchy Feet. Literally just getting back into it now after a hectic summer. With me and the Mrs expecting twins it’s been one hectic few months.
Good race for so early in the season. Impressive winner.
Softer ground both sides of the water compared to 12 months ago should be plenty of competitive action

Smart 3m novice at Chepstow and ‘narrowed’ it down to four of the six, so will just watch with interest as its normally won by a good sort
That was an odd race. Lisnagar Oscar never looked too happy early on, then warmed to it and threw it away again. Winner looks like a nice sort though, jumped neatly bar one bad mistake.
An absolute cracker to follow tomorrow as well.
When Henry says one of his has schooled well it deserves a +

He's going to be an absolute monster. Can't wait.
Impressive from Jarvey's Plate today. Didn't even jump that fluently but found plenty up against two very good rivals.
Beakstown v Sam Spinner at Wetherby tomorrow.
The older I get the better I was.

I took a different view Bonjers as thought once Reserve Tank warmed to it, he travelled and jumped well and just got tired after fluffing the last. Paddy Brennan never looked really happy on Jarvey’s, niggling and pushing along from some way out. It could be I’ve got the old rose tinted specs on, as love the 2nd, but will almost certainly oppose the winner next time
Would be great to see Sam Spinner turn into a top notcher over fences, so hoping he goes well tomorrow

The talk around Reserve Tank reminded me very much of that about Finian's Oscar.

hope so Archie as from memory don't think he impressed at Chepstow on his chasing bow
(note - edited 4.52 post as read like I would oppose Reserve Tank next time which definitely is not the case!)
Beakstown is a monster of a horse. Sure to be a really good staying chaser. Not sure an early season effective match in a novice chase will suit though Danny. All credit to him if he wins, but I see him as a Welsh National horse next season if they manage this season well.
Favs 'flip-flopped' and Beakstown now odds on...

Sam Spinner won that well in the end, after dropping out 10 lengths and looking as though he'd folded tamely and well beaten four out. A really strange ride and I'm not sure what to make of how much of it was horse and how much was jockey.
