    Yorkshire Cup

Great to see Stradivarius back tomorrow - terrific horse - the best stayer since Ardross himself.

All comers, all grounds, all beaten!

This perfect mix of poetry and destruction.

Certainly one of the most likeable but the best since Ardross?

As Frankel suggests, you seem to be overlooking Yeats.

I can't rattle the figures off the top of my head but an OR of 120 is a bit low to be holding any bragging rights. And what if Ispolini does him by more than three lengths (the equivalent of the concession) today? Will that make Ispolini the best since Ardross?

Best English trained stayer since Ardross. As a pre-teen, I can remember marvelling at the fact that a stayer could finish in the frame in the arc, but then Westerner and Order of St George did it.

Ardross was a fabulous horse - loved him loved him loved him. Cried when he was beaten in the Arc, and remembering Lester said it was all his fault.
