    Fairyhouse/Irish Nash

Entries are out - will hopefully see some of the Cheltenham horses as they have had plenty of recovery at this stage

    Nash itself - https://www.irishracing.com/card?rac...d=201904221700

Thought this might have generated a bit more interest myself. I haven't been around much over the past couple of weeks have barely watched race or had a look through any form properly for a while. Despite having the most shoddy Irish racing punting record I suppose I have to start somewhere.

From a cursory glance at the front runners in the market, Burrows saint, Any second now, Snugsborough Benny and the wonderfully named Shady Operator all make some appeal as I suppose to a lesser extent does Tout est Permis. Splitting them though and finiding the best of the bunch looks at least to me easier said than done.

I'm thinking I'd rather probably take a bit of a flyer on one who could just be an utter monkey in the shape of Roaring Bull. Generally a 33/1 poke across the boards even with the 6 place firms I think that has to be a fair bet. He has a bit of course form having won what was probably a poor race over trip that will probably be in time short of what is ideal for him. His run behind Burrows saint at Limierick probably the one that catches the eye. Having run in snatches and been a bit outpaced at times over 3 miles he really rallied to good effect over the last and got to withing 4.5 lengths of Burrows Saint in what appears to have been a truly run contest. The run in, at Limerick is fairly short after the last but he's taken plenty of lengths out of the 2nd and 4th in a short amount of time and probably hauled back a couple of lengths on Burrows Saint who himself stayed on fairly strongly. Being 6lb better off at the weights with that rival tomorrow won't do his chances any harm but added to that he just looked like an out and out stayer and with another 5f to go at here I'd struggle to see how he couldn't give Burrows saint a real run for his money and he's 3 times the price.

The only worry is I suppose his jumping has been a little bit sketchy at times and if he gets outpaced at any stage in a field this big you'd need a bit of luck to weave a path back through them but I think its a chance worth taking and with 6 places on offer I think as long as he keeps his feet he should at the very least he should stay on into the frame and he'd have at least punchers chance of taking home gravy.

    Best of luck

Bellow Mome for me, (No.26) on the card. The 28/1 with Hills surely won't last that long.

His point was super impressive but he is a bit headstrong.

    Looking forward to seeing him

Andy Dufresne doesn't do "all in jobs" some sort of jaw locking problem if memory serves.

I've put up Measureofmydreams and Whisperinthebreeze (both 20/1 taken) in the longshot thread. The former is my main bet in the race but the other one I like the look of is Shady Operator (14/1 taken). I have him down as potentially much better than we've seen and I like his profile, that of a lightly raced, unexposed novice for a trainer on his way to the top.

Petit Mouchoir was close up in the Stayers Hurdle before failing to stay and may have a good chance of returning to winning ways over a half mile less here. The front two are respected but Wicklow Brave has never been the most reliable and Off You Go is plenty short enough imo

I watched the big race in a betting shop where the picture wasn't brilliant.

Was it my imagination or were the horses struggling to jump the fences? Are the F/house fences much bigger/higher than elsewhere?

They would be known as some of the bigger fences in Ireland but not to Aintree levels

The ground mixed with pace and trip were the issue there today
