The objective of the competition, as with any Placepot, is to pick horses you think will place in the first six races on each of the three days at the Aintree meeting.
For the purposes of the competition players are permitted 128 bets, and although there are normally a number of combinations in which that number can be used in a real Tote placepot,we will limit it to two options. You may have either (Option A) 128 x 10p bets which is two horses in any 5 of the races and four horses in the other, or (Option B) you can have 64 X 20p bets, which is two horses in each race. Bets are accepted up to the start of the first race.
Any bets placed on a non-runner will be replaced by the Starting Price favourite. Where there are joint favourites, the joint favourite with the lowest race card number will be taken.
If the favourite is withdrawn before coming under Starters Orders and too late for a new favourite to be made, the horse returned at the next shortest price will be taken.
Where two or more horses are returned at the next shortest price, the one with the lowest race card number will be taken.
If no Starting Price is returned the first actual runner quoted in the Racing Post betting forecast will be taken. Should the Racing Post not publish a betting forecast, settlement will be made in line with Tote Racecourse Cash Rules.
If a race is a walkover, is not run or is declared void, the pool(s) will operate on the remaining specified tote races. In this event total stakes on permutation entries are applied in full to the remaining races.
In the event of a pool being cancelled the competition will be void that day.
