Incredibe horse and an awesome display, made all the more impressive imo by the fact that so many of Elliot's have under performed

Class advantage for Tiger Roll is ridiculous in the X-Country. Clearly had about a stone in hand, after his prep at Navan.

Clear round in the National would you lay him? Agree though on reflection or wise after the fact it was a bit of a liberty and the bookies had it bang on

    I think he'll follow-up in the Nash.

This. In the form he is in, would he be third fav in the stayers. Is it absolutely impossible that next years target will be the Gold Cup.

Back in the '60s Freddie was twice favourite for the National at 7/2 (1965) and 11/4 (1966) and couldn't win.

Tiger Roll would be a barge-pole job for me right now but maybe once I dig into the form...

Tiger Roll has already won a Nash of course, so not sure that's wholly relevant, DO.

Certainly 6/1 is short enough given your destiny isn't always in your own hands, but he has by far and away the best credentials of any runner in the race. And I don't reckon a 9lb higher mark this year is necessarily going to stop him, as he looks like he's improved by more than that in the interim anyway.

Very hard to get away from for Aintree, imo.

He would, however, be a complete no-hoper in a Gold Cup, and 10/1 is a joke price.

Not sure what box Tiger Roll doesn't tick. When you win the National, you usually get lumbered with 12-0 /11-10.

6/1 is value. He is a better horse than last year - and I would think by more than 9l. He looks very well handicapped.

Guess he paddled the last furlong last year but strikes me that 4/1 would be about right.

Dunno that 6/1 is ever value in a Nash, HW......there’s a lot can go wrong for you, that’s completely out of your control. I’d be a layer at 4/1, for sure, just because of the nature of the race.

True. He ticks just about every box there is and the signs are (I haven't put a figure on it yet) he has improved a bit this season.

Don't forget, though, that he was being caught hand over fist last year by Pleasant Company who will be a lot better off at the weights and could also have improved. Then again, there might be other horses in the race that arguably could run well in the Gold Cup and who are getting weight from him.

I'm not prepared to dismiss him now as I was when the weights first came out but he can win all he want at short odds.

I actually took a little 50/1 last night Shattered Love in anticipation of a promising effort in the Gold Cup.

Did the same with Shattered Love myself. Good mention for her in that preview. Mind you, did the same with Ultragold yesterday in case he ran a blinder; #eggonfacetime

Have liked SL for a long time

    Needs a trip
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

I’m not sure it’s been picked up in the media, but O’Leary was talking about possibly skipping the National that night.

I think it is up there with Reynolds/Russell suggesting Presenting Percy was going to go for the stayers after the Galmoy.

No Grand National winner has won a Gold cup after yet other than Golden Miller who had already won 3 Gold Cups by his GN win.
Would not bet against Tiger doing it especially on his present form.
Pity Nigel Hawke who flipped him for a 65000 profit ; it looked good business at the time but, then again, hindsight is the foresight of a gobshite !
