Ricci has been shown up for what he is. Most of these banking executives talk out of both sides of their mouths and would trample on humanity to line their pockets.

If you owed/welshed on a bet and were 'reported' you weren't allowed to set foot on a racecourse. Rich has welshed on bets and should be banned, as his horses should be banned from running until he honours bets his company has made.

one of your best Simon and I actually hope Ricci gets a winner next week and is met with silence in winners circle. the alternative is dogs abuse which would be more fun

The Ricci situation is a disgrace and my early thoughts were strongly along the same lines as Perpectual's; that should he have a winner next week national TV should witness it with either complete silence or angry booing.

That would maybe create its own story and highlight to the rest of the country what a despicable trick he's pulled.

It was people with this level of contempt for society that caused the financial crisis and not one of them was jailed for it. Instead all of us paid over the years in tens of thousands of pounds per person.

But this thing about the integrity of bookmakers? Seriously?

Perhaps it's akin to honour among thieves but I know of plenty of examples of bookmakers fleecing punters like three-cup-trick con gangs in the holiday resorts.

There is a fraud trial currently in progress relating to the behaviour of senior bank executives around the time of the 2008 financial crisis

I'm fairly sure that a company that defends lashing out on luring high-rollers into losing to the max isn't entitled to take the moral high ground here.

As said before, without the figures no-one can take an informed view.

I always enjoy Simons threads and this is no exception, but why does he associate himself with an Online bookmaking company to critisise another. Not as if the company he is associated with gets rave reviews is it.

Punters rights is definitely a subject we'll be returning to in years to come. The little man gets shafted again and again, by the government, the banks, now the bookies. It's a matter of time before they start collecting our biometric data. As for the well named Rich Ricci, all this stuff about his career at Barclays was out there many years ago. I just hope they look into all this professionally and thoroughly.

If Ricci treats people he has made wagers with in this way, can you imagine how much he owes his tailors?

The firm I work for will have a sign saying any horse to lose £100,000 on the pitch at Cheltenham. If someone bets to that figure and the horse wins, they will get paid. I think that gives me the right to lambaste what BetBright have done. I have freedom to write what I like on the Star Sports website, it's my opinion. If you could point me towards the bad reviews you are talking about I'll do my best to address them in a future blog.

As I wrote in a previous blog, some people live in a different world to us mortals, of course high-rollers get looked after as any business will look after their best customers. I'll also point out that the door was thrown open first come first served to Star Sports clients for places in a box at a meeting they sponsored at Exeter recently, not high-rollers just valued customers. While I am paid to write content and interview for the #BettingPeople series I have no input or part in the bookmaking side of the business. Having said that, I have a clear conscience regarding their conduct as bookies.
