    Gowran gold cup

Saturday could be the best race ever seen in Gowran

Monalee looks locked in, imagine Percy is a nap to run

Willie will send something and maybe Sizing John

    Anyone going?

I've always thought it was GORE..RAN.

As a matter of interest, if all the possible runners turn up, what does Presenting Percy have to do to retain favouritism for March?

    I applaud your knowledge Archie

A close second to a quicker horse over the trip like monalee would prob be sufficient

What are the chances of a British invasion now the coast is clear ?
Couldn't Be Better came over for Thyestes in mid 90s and Royal Mail won PZ Mower Chase (Thurles) for Stan Mellor in 1979/80

of course Edredon Bleu came to Clonmel for Morris Oil Chase also.

UK trainers aren't very creative Eddie, so don't despite it offering a good prep opportunity don't hold our breath.

It's noticeable how few entries Willie has on the card Archie. None in the maiden hurdle and bumper when he usually would. Particularly given the timing, location, and comparison to previous seasons. Any reason why that you're aware of?

Might be vaccination related; a minimum six day delay before you can run.

That's a good point Eddie. I'm guessing the Irish trainers are all vaccinating for the new strain too.

guessing that this means Footpad will have no prep race before Ryanair or QM and ABP will go there off the back of a Tramore run (although Willie did mention saving him for next year if needed)

I just hope there is enough vaccine to go around; vaccine formulation and manufacture is a slow temperature related process that can be easily upset.
A lot of cyber- terrorism ( there is a better word but name escapes me ) target vaccine production systems so the story goes.
Others just post their thoughts on forum threads , whether you want to read them or not !

Looks a cracking little race. I'm probably thinking the same as the majority that Monalee looks like he's going to be very hard to beat at this trip. However I'm really hoping that Bachasson runs he caught my eye about 18months ago I backed him at some sort of crazy price for the Gold Cup last year on NRNB basis. Willie seems to have been very patient with this one and maybe he doesn't need many entries here to snatch the main prize.

I'd been feeling a bit flat since the New Year with regards the racing, the weekend ahead is the most excited I've been since last year's festival. If the majority of entries turn up across the cards it is going to be one hell of a day on Saturday. Fantastic stuff. Horse racing, from the outhouse to the penthouse within the matter of days
