One of the stories of last week was the possibility of horse racing along some of the main city centre thoroughfares of the World.
They had a trial at Aintree and all went swimmingly.
The idea of a series of five furlong sprints along Fifth Avenue, Champs Elyssee, Carrigrohane Straight and other major landmarks and bring racing to the people.
Health and Safety, Animal welfare and lots of others will have a field day.
Thoughts ?
Gimmick?
Ah! but a man's reach should exceed his grasp......
Surely racehorses' legs aren't built for galloping at full speed on such a surface?
