And that small head knew that Impaire Et Passe would win the Champion Hurdle."
be some sight if great field, saint calv and uds all ran but in reality there's more chance of me lining up than all 3
Updated Betfair Tingle Creek betting 5/6 – Altior 9/2 – Sceau Royal 11/2 – Saint Calvados 7/1 – Un De Sceaux 8/1 – Great Field 20/1 – Min 25/1 – God’s Own 33/1 – Special Tiara 50/ 1 – Speredek 66/1 – Gino’s Trail
I'm abroad right now. Is there any indication that GF travels?
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

I will be there saturday .. any abuse welcolmed
I hope no one is offended by me putting this selection for The December Handicap Hurdle at Sandown on this thread. DECEMBER HANDICAP HURDLE - UNISON from Jeremy Scott's yard has turned out to be a cracking handicap hurdler. He has a win strike of 8/21 over hurdles, has won over 80 grand in prize money, and been dropped a couple of pounds in the handicap, after a decent return to form when third the last day at Huntingdon. With Call Me Lord topping the weights on a mark of 160, this leaves ample opportunity for other well handicapped horses to exploit. I am definitely with Unison, at a top price of 16/1 with Betfair and Corals.

If all of these turn up no way should Altior be odds on.
He could of course win the race but he does have habit of taking a long time to pick up
Sandown should help as others tend to stop very quickly in the closing stages
However he's never had to contend with the likes of Un Des Sceau or Saint Calvados who can go off like the clappers and be impossible to catch if given too much leeway
Sprinter made short work of UDS but he had the highest cruising speed I have ever seen from a horse alot higher than Altior's so keeping tabs on opponents was easy for him.
Hard to Accept St Calvados's Arkle running he's better than that and he has Footpad well and truly cooked last time.
I have always been a fan of Sceau Royal and I reckon he could come of age here. he travels well enough to keep tabs on the 2 tearaways and might just get first run on Altior and lower his colours
Surely the price will get better than 9/2 if the other 2 mentioned both turn up?

Formely Fist of Fury
Two miles around Sandown is the ultimate test for 2 mile chasers imo.
The track has all the attributes for testing jumping, speed and stamina.
Should half the entries show up it will be a treat.
All The Heavens shall be watching with anticipation and so shall I.
Rarely has a race been better named in honour of a great racehorse.
I'll be there Saturday. If I knew he was going to run? Then Min 25/1 looks the value to me. Still lightly raced, improving and best when fresh imo.

I’ve never wanted the Mentalist to keep an engagement, as much as I do this one.

Speredek might well harm the chances of the horses who like to dictate affairs he certainly doesn't hang about.
Echo all sentiments about the line up it would be a cracker. I love Altior but agree with Tanlic that it would certainly be a tough ask first time up.

Man who catch fly with chopstick .... accomplish anything.
Reported on Twitter that UDS will head to Sandown to face down Altior. Great Field most likely goes to Cork for the Hilly Way.

If Alltior was to lose, wonder is there any chance he is KG re-routed?

There's a hell of a lot of pace in those decs; Speredek, Gino Trail, Great Field (stays in Ireland surely), Saint Calvedos, Special Tiara (I heard he's an unlikely runner) and even Un De Sceaux so while it's not my style of betting, there has to a strong probablity that Altior hits a fair price in running.
The Henry VIII was run at a decent clip on this card last year and it suited Sceau Royal perfectly as he was never off the bridle and won in taking fashion. If he's ever going to finish in front of Altior then this is his chance.
