    Fairyhouse Weekend

    Probably deserves it's own thread

My cliff horse Sutton Place is declared in the hattons grace - feared he'd been retired
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

Sunday is my 4th favourite days racing of the year. Never miss it.

And that small head knew that Impaire Et Passe would win the Champion Hurdle."

Fabulous card. I've bet Quick Grabim in the Royal Bond but Commander In Fleet will be tough to crack. Heading to Newcastle for the Fighting Fifth so it's going to be a brilliant weekends racing.

How long has this card been going with the 3 Grade 1 races Eddie? It really is the highlight before the Christmas meetings.

    It's back on RTE too

Fairyhouse really undersell this weekend. It's such a shame

I first went there in 1986 when The Iliad won the handicap hurdle and Barrow line the Drinmore; .Holsten Pils sponsored that day after years of Benson and Hedges handicap hurdle won by Captain Christy and co and a 3 mile B and H handicap Chase which came between Troytown and Thyestes chases Nov and January.
Hattons Grace was first run in 1994 when Danoli beat Doran's Pride.
The Grading of NH races followed soon after if not by then Slim, but always (from 10years old) this was the best Irish NH day pre Christmas.

    Some good names there edgt.

Remember Dorans Pride and Dunwoody beating See More Business & AP one year.

Some race that turned out to be. Wealth was a bit more evenly spread back then!

The bumper horse if better than Malone Road will be worth the entrance money

    Quick Grabim looked good today.

Commander of Fleet looks like it needs 3m

WPM on ATR saying Ruby went with Plan B without saying what Plan A was (drop him in presumably), wouldn't rule out further but if he performs like that at today's distance that's where he'll stay. Sounds like Christmas at Leopardstown will be the next outing "when we should find out more".

That was a most enjoyable afternoon's racing. Apple's Jade was outstanding, the two handicaps were absorbing and there was some great jockeyship. But as Davy Russell said when talking about the novices on RTE, we haven't seen the biggest guns yet.

Stunning days racing. Quality from end to end. Apple's Jade is a special mare.
