Yeah fair points. Having backed him for the RSA a long time ago, I'm possibly biased on him. I'd like to believe he just idled at Kempton when he got to the front. Don't think it was a case of him not staying. Just needs to be delivered late. Good Cheltenham form too, which was another positive for me.

Fair enough yeah, he could have been held onto much longer.
I think he's good enough potentially to win maybe 7 out of 10 RSA's, but I think Delta and Santini could be top draw. I'd go for the shorter race and go from there next season in terms of a Ryanair or Gold Cup campaign

I've a 25/1 ticket for the RSA so I hope to f*ck that's where he goes but taking my blinkers off, I think he'd have a much better chance in the JLT (would win easily IMO) and that's where connections should send him. But it doesn't sound like they're going to.

Topofthegame would be a very short favorite in the JLT and race will suit much better than RSA

in the RSA more likely to be 3rd favorite

Wait and see Paloma Blue will go for the Arkle now, just wait and see

    What a clusterfu*k

The only thing more in disarray is Liverpool's attempts to win the league

And to top it all, Monalee will run in the Gold Cup

    Oh my days.....
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

That's the problem with pumpkin, he's sort of a bit one eyed with regard to his horses and what target they should have. I mean, strength of opposition should be considered as well as trip

After Give Me A Copper in the ultra competitive Ultima though, says it all really.

BF would seem to be indicating Defi Du Seuil won't be going for the Arkle ?

Makes sense. If anything the JLT looks weaker (esp with Topofthegame going for the RSA)

Novice racing is what I adore. It's been a disappointing crop of late

I’m still wondering what race Hardline goes for? Got ante post bets on him for the Arkle and JLT but he’s been tipped for the Brown Advisory by an Irish tipster (forgotten his name) on the Racing Post WTW video for Cheltenham week. Seriously frustrating if Elliott takes him handicapping now.

Any word from the stable seems to suggest he goes for the Arkle.

With Le Richebourg out it makes sense, especially if the ground is soft on the day too I’d be more confident. I want to get stuck into WH 12/1 for the race but without confirmation of his target I’ll have to let it go. Thanks for your reply.

12/1 NRNB with Bet365, but I appreciate you might not have an account with them.

I'll be amazed if they don't go Arkle with him personally. I was down in the yard 2 weeks ago and the feeling was he'd go to the Arkle. But you just never know. Not worth backing without the NRNB insurance this close to the festival. You'd be sick as a pig if they pointed him somewhere else.

No account with them sadly but you’re spot on with it being so close now I just can’t take the risk. I’ve actually invested more on him winning the JLT but that was immediately after his run behind La Bague Au Roi. Stepping back to 2 miles I didn’t see happening.

Not on quick going at any rate.
    Soft might be a help.
