He goes 4 miler. Nick Luck asked Henderson in the immediate aftermath and he said i’m sure it’ll be mentioned but he is made for the 4miler.

Plus he has Plumpton bonus to think about.
The Waley Cohen horse will put him through his paces over 4 miles if he takes him on again.

I've no doubt that the 4 miler was the plan before today. Just suggesting today's ease of victory might prompt a rethink. I was very impressed today. Tanked through the race and finished off strongly.

JP loves running fast horses in 4 miler.
Jack Of Trumps , his first runner was an Irish Cesarewitch winner after and Deep Gale, his second started fav for Supreme Novice Hurdle the year after !

That's a nice bet you have at 14s kauto. Will go off very short. As edgt says JP has a long affinity with the miler despite his two reverses in the early days with Jack of Trumps and Deep Gale.

Winter Escape looks a decent horse again

I do have doubts about Alan King as a trainer to keep horses sound for more than 2 seasons or so
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

I'd say more than decent on that viewing. He's given a nice sort a stone and a beating.

Just wondering could Winter Escape be JP's RSA horse?!? He's currently not even in the betting. But if you look down through his novice chasers, right now the general consensus for targets would be Le Richbourg for the Arkle, Defi for the JLT and Ok Corral for the 4 miler.

Winter Escape surely a JLT horse? Defi target will be ground-dependent to an extent, but can see JP running him in either Arkle or JLT, even if he has another runner in race.

I have a feeling he might be a Powers horse at Fairyhouse for this season as his big aim

JP wouldn’t ordinarily leave an undefeated novice with a strong form chance, off the Cheltenham boat!

He may do it again to Great field when not even a novice

Finny stole that race so I would not take result literally.
