Delta Work was impressive for me. Jumped well in the main and adjusted naturally when he wasn't right at a fence. Won a touch cosily over a distance well short of his best.

The older I get the better I was.
Any chance of merging the two seasonal novice chase threads?

Fair enough.

Nice word for Draconien
With Draconien, initially after Punchestown I thought I'm going to stick hurdling, but when I saw how much he matured over the summer I said, 'this fellow is a chaser,'. We schooled him over fences the other day; he's very, very good, so I'm going to go chasing with him.
Draconien looks like he could be in the Footpad league. It's a big league to be in, but that is the league we are aspiring to be in at this stage of the season with him, though I don't think he can run as often. He'll have a much tighter schedule.
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

Doesn't set the pulse racing
Lostintranslation, Thomas Campbell and La Bague au Roi out tomorrow at Newbury and the mare will be my pick

I'll be betting La Bague au Roi .

Not unusual for Gigginstown to send one of their good novices to the 4-miler, and he may want further than the RSA trip if the ground is on the quicker side. Reckon this one is a relentless stayer.
That’s the theory anyway.

Thomas Campbell needs further but ran a fair race. The mare looked like she could take 2 lengths out of them whenever she wanted.

Pretty much my assumption as well. From 2 out Johnson was holding back a lot of horse whilst Power was full at it. Lostintranslation one to still keep an eye on, stayed on well enough, and I've always believed Tizzards runners come good after Christmas.
Tricky one what to do with La Bague Au Roi, a real smart mare, but I believe she's a few pound off being grade 1.
I thought Roys Baguette did it very nicely and would clean up mares chases if they decide to focus on those. I hope they don't. Lostintransalation also ran a super race, jumping great in the main and will win plenty
