It's dated 2017, TS. He wasn't qualified to run in 2018 but he is this time round.
The older I get the better I was.

Gilgamboa has not got the winter he wanted. Would be concerned about him lining up at this stage.

Last year's favourite Burning Ambition really impressed once again with a win on the weekend.

He would be a serious candidate for the Foxhunters on nicer ground than last year but trainer it seems is looking to Aintree instead.

I've got Gilgamboa in some multiples, but there has been a little rumour floating around that he had a bit of a hold up and it may be a race against time to get him qualified for Cheltenham. That's why Aintree is being mentioned, although Cheltenham isn't off the table as I understand it.

Do any of my Irish friends no what happened to Edna Bolgers Staker Wallace.
I thought this was going to win the foxhunter last year but after an eye catching run,he never ran again.

I wanted to ask why Paul Nicholls hasn't entered Amour Dr Nuit in any races for the festival? He has form over two and a half miles, rated 142, entered to run in Kemptons 1:30 on Saturday. Does anyone know why he seems to have no festival target?

Chances are if he gets entries they'll be in handicaps and the entries won't be known for a while.

That looks a cracking novice chase at Warwick this Saturday (1:50), with plenty of possible RSA Chase possibles entered up.

I can see something winning and shortening up considerably in the betting as an opponent to Santini...

The one screaming at me is Rocky's Treasure. If he can carry on his progression, there surely won't be any 25/1 left on RSA day.

Santini has already gubbed Rockys Treasure, think Rockys could be a good bet in the four miler.
The same stable also have Vindication, who's the only horse to beat Champ over hurdles.

I wouldn't be worrying too much about who beat what over hurdles. This will be a gruelling chase as it always is. One of the reasons for this, is because the competition of three mile chasers is at a very high level, certainly higher than the novice hurdlers. This is a brutal test for a novice. I couldn't back a horse that has had just two runs over fences beforehand such as Santini or Vinndication. I like Rocky Treasure's as he has had more racing experience. It's his racing profile which is appealing, as much as anything. He finished just four lengths off the ridiculously priced anti post favourite Santini, which wasn't too bad. Santini has some festival demons to defy after his short priced defeat in 2018. If I was a layer, he'd be right up there on my 'to lay' list. I'd hazard a guess the reason he is so short is because many people have been piling their conkers on him for this race for a long time. However, as someone who hasn't done that, this is part of the reason I want to be against him - It's two months to racetime and their is so much value elsewhere. Re- aiming Rocky's at the four miler, that's a fair point if true. Has Kim Bailey given any indication that this is the intent of connections?

Nowadays the four-miler is almost as classy as the RSA.

Santini beat Rocky's Treasure over fences at Newbury Marble?

I've heard nothing about race target for Rocky's, he just strikes me as the perfect type for the 4 miler.
Both Santini and Vindication are sure to have another run prior to the festival.

25/1 has very little to do with the horses ability

Kim Bailey has a tough decision to make with Rocky's Treasure. He back in work and was schooled a couple of days ago Jonjo Jnr

He could have him 110% Cheltenham and hope they don't water as he really doesn't want any soft in the description or just bypass it all together and go for the National

If ever there was a wait and see bet this is it

I've just done an e/w treble and taken advantage of the Skybet NRNB and BOGT concession.

    Rocky's Treasure (4 Miler)
    Vinndication (JLT)
    The Last Samuri (Foxhunters)

    All are 10/1

Yeah, Tanlic rightly says he doesn't want the ground too soft, so I thought that was a good run at Newbury given the ground. They were both together jumping the last, in fact Rocky's was a length up. Santini must be some horse, but at 20/1 I reckon Rocky's is a decent each way bet. He is up against OK Corral tomorrow. Given that one is trained by Nicky Henderson, I'm sure they'll have some sort of a line through them with Santini at home. After tomorrow I reckon they should go easy on Rocky. This will be his fifth or sixth run, so while he has racing experience, he could do with a break before Cheltenham.

I always like it when connections start off in small four grand chases then win the bigger prizes. Always good when an owner wants to win prize money with a horse. It's usually a statement of intent.
