    Mendelssohn last in Kentucky Derby

I suspect Ryan Moore wishing he had stayed at home.

The sloppy track I suspect played a part but I wonder if it would be much better to send a candidate to have their prep in the US rather than Dubai.

Clive Brittain of course came much the closest to winning the Kentucky Derby with Bold Arrangement and as I recall it he ran at Keeneland before being second to Ferdinand.

If you had told me after Meydan he'd go off at around 7/1 I would have thought you were mad. Apparently the USA think Medan form isn't worth the paper it's written on?

The biggest issue is the early kickback. If you don't break well, it's pretty severe and European horses invariably can't handle it. That's why the US horses are taught to break fast so they can get a good position early.

Not just the USA Tanlic. I'd be of a similar opinion not that I think every horse that runs there is bad far from it but I'm always cautious about any form line from there.

I'd also think a lot of the U.S form is mickey mouse. Some of the tracks they run the breeders cup on just can't be taken seriously. It'd be like having a 16 runner group 1 sprint run around Chester.
