Next time we meet at Leop we can have a quick game. How much cash do you normally bring with you?

Slim told me he carries around more cash in his socks than most have in the bank

I will fill my socks and follow suit

He has particularly tiny feet, though.

Oh, it was his feet they talk about.

    Bucket list finance needs:

    1. Stay away from Airports as much as possible.
    2. Spend as much time in rural Ireland as I can muster.
    3. 4 days at Cheltenham
    4. 2 days in Punchestown
    5. Arc weekend in Paris
    6. Golf Club dues
    7. Squash Club dues

That's about it as libraries are still free.
If I had the time and the money I would go for an early morning swim (indoors) and walk the beach in Tramore for an hour every day.

And both of those options [almost] free of charge Luke.

Have you done the Waterford Greenway yet -AC.Absolutely world class -did the full course and distance last July -the 47K was the longest I had ever cycled and I had to cycle the same again to get home.Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

How long did it take you Luke?

Is it split into walking routes also?

Granger -it took me ten hours on a mid range hybrid bike but you have to take the following into consideration -I was blatantly unfit,it was double my previous longest cycle,I took a 40 minute coffee break,I took a two hour break for lunch in Dungarvan and on the return journey I had to push the bike for 15K because my back was in bits.Having said that I enjoyed every minute -the sun was shining and I had a day without the family.
There are loads of places you can get on and off the Greenway and in my opinion the best sections to walk would be Waterford City to Kilmeaden and the spectacular Ballyvoile Tunnel to Clonea.

Waterford to New Ross is next for the Greenway treatment.

People were very friendly, much more friendly than Dublin.

    Pleasantly surprised by the place.

I like Glasgow, it's very underrated. That said it's best avoided when there's an Old Firm game on!!!

I haven't been following this thread for a few days. If I'd seen this I'd have suggested joining you for a quick pint. (I'm not into stag dos.)

The Old Firm died in 2012 along with Rangers. Nowadays it's a just Glasgow derby, regardless of what the media say, in the same way that the games against Partick and the odd cup game against Queen's Park are just Glasgow derbies.

Some of the finest people I know are from Glasgow.

My next goal is to get out of the city and live a very simple but peaceful and quiet life in the Irish countryside

One thing ticked off my bucket list this year. Giffords Circus. Saw it at Stonor Park [sp] on a blisteringly hot summers day with Red Kites flying overhead. Other things on the bucket list involved travelling, but a new dog [black whippet; completely bonkers] has put paid to that, unless the S.O.agrees to stay at home with the dog and let me tootle off on me own.
