Edit - just checked and the weights aren't out yet nor is there an ante-post market. Still, he can't go up for yesterday. I suspect he'll be favourite when the weights do come out but he should be at least 10/1 and I can see him going off at 5/2 if he gets there.

When races split as they did yesterday, I tend to rate the two sides as separate races. If the handicapper were allowed to do likewise he'd hit GA with a 9lbs rise.
Yes, I'd followed up Euro's mention of him straight after Goodwood.

I still think 10/1 is a price worth taking but will hold off until the weights are published in case any bookie has the cojones (or folly) to offer 12s.

That's very possible in theory as the only bookies with prices atm are bottom feeders, but if he wins that race again at Newmarket on Saturday I'm not so sure.

Great Ambassador taken out of both engagements this weekend.

I presume that means full steam ahead for Ayr although it also holds an entry in the Haydock Sprint Cup.

Surely not going to Haydock. No chance there

'Outside' rather than 'no', I'd say. I got round the other night to logging up my figures for the Stewards' Cup and his was quite a performance.

As I said at the time, when it comes to races that split wide apart, I usually rate them as two distinct races and mark up the disadvantaged side - sometimes doing so suggests there was no advantage - accordingly. In this case, GA has put up a career best despite meeting trouble in running and emerges a better horse on my ratings than Commanche Falls.

On the other hand, I do suspect the Haydock entry was/is a speculative one in case he won at Goodwood and ended up on a prohibitive mark for Ayr.

It's all to do with giving your horse it's best chance to win, the Mullins mantra. He's an 8 or 10s poke for the Ayr race, I would say a fair price for Haydock would be 25s plus. Same with Jumby on Saturday - his trainer has him in the Hungerford (25/1 shot imo) whereas he'd be near enough fav at Ripon.

Not left in. I mean the fav won a handicap last time out and wasn't even the best horse in the race and Walk of Stars is 4/1. You find a bet and the trainer just fucks you. Appreciate that.

ALLIGATOR ALLEY runs tomorrow and is 11/8 in a poor race and I'm wondering if this is to get a penalty or go up in the ratings to get in the SYMPHONY GROUP HCAP at york next wednesday.a £51,000 race to the winner.

So I've took the chance 25/1

Rebel Romance runs in a Group One at Hoppegarten on Sunday over 1M4F. Should have a live chance.

Aye I see System is showing blue on oddschecker top price 20/1 now. She could creep in on a light weight and run well. I still don't think we have seen the very best of her yet. She has more scope to improve I reckon.

I know you are sweet on Golden Voice but anyways.

Heritage handicap over 6 at York on Saturday and Botti, incredibly, has the horse in that. I sometimes can't believe the lack of expertise these people have. What is he thinking?

Like Khanjar if he runs. No prices yet.

Silver Samurai has no soft ground form, so why take a gamble on Ayr?

Because it's more valuable, it'll be a stiffer test than York and his sire loved cut.
