Lost six lengths out of the stalls (according to RP), beaten less than five lengths. Not hard ridden in the final furlong from what I could see. Looked like Spencer accepted some way out that he wasn't going to win. The silver lining is that he might be better than 11/2 next time although backers of Gilgamesh can also consider themselves very unlucky as he was a clear 'winner' on the unfavoured side.

Interesting to see Ripp Orf only raised three pounds for that win last week. I'm sure it's one of the reasons David Elsworth turns him out so quickly again! A great ride for Hayley Turner once more. There's supposed to be a lack of pace in the race so interesting how she rides him.

Austrian School the thinking man's bet

    (ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_School)

(with apologies to the forum's women - I just though 'man' was snappier in the context.)

Edit - as soon as I posted this I realised it wasn't the one I came on to offer! I still fancy the socks off Austrian School today and was tempted to make it a double-strength bet but the one I came on to post is:

Savalas to take the big Telly race!

I hope this thread won't prove the kiss of death for Elector. It has been for everything else I've put up... Amazing Red found more backsides than Northern Dancer.

Aftertiming, I know, but I did indicate the pick on the main thread:
