Can't thank you enough for the heads up on this Archie, think it's the bet of the week. Was with friends last night and was telling them about this and the fact that it was 7/1 (well it was when I checked yesterday morning!), we were going to go in again until we saw the price drop. Still think 9/2 is a good price about a winning bet though!

No mention of Monbeg Notorious in the Elliott Festival update.

Think the Irish national is the plan.

    still very good

    this could get expensive

on the other hand if they manage fire in 16 winners between them i'll have had an excellent festival regardless of how the actual horses i've backed do

    entirely possible

    The 13+ @ 10/1 is a crazy price.

Elliott was only starting to break into the big league in 2015 & 2016 and yet the three combined still had 11 and 12 winners, with Nicky not doing too well in 2015 either. The decline in quality at Ditcheat and Elliot's emergence saw it rise to 15 last year.

The 10/1 should be around evens and the 25/1 for 16+ no more than 5/1.
Now 11/8, which is about right. Odds compiler could have a lot to answer for here.

Archie, you’re a legend for flagging this. Win or lose.

backing this, 16 winners at 25s and, later on, 14 winners at 9/1 turned my week from a sub-par one into a very good one. fantastic spot.

Nice to have it come up with a day and a half to go. Fair play to Sky, they settled yesterday as well.

With this and the Nicholls Foxhunter bet, as Del Boy once said, I've had worse days.

Pluralism of Ideas and the prosperity of any land are intertwined. Freedom of minds and skill of intellect to 'think the unthinkable' is how humanity has progressed; when minds are incarcerated nothing endures.

I have to add my congratulations archie to a fantastic spot - probably one of the best value bets / worst bookmaker ricks of all time

Just reminiscing and noting that this season's price for 13 or more is 1/4.
    4/9 14 or more
    8/11 15 or more
    10/11 16 or more
    7/4 18 or more

To be fair to Sky, they paid up straight away and have behaved since but obviously taking no chances this time. I'd love to know who put up the original Request A Bet and what he's got for this season.

I'm not keen on backing individual horses this early but something like Willie to train 1-2-3 in any race at 7/1 might be worth it at some stage. Gordon at 8/1 not as attractive.
