    RUK

Got a circular in today from RUK.

£10pm for ten months, a year's contract (so just under £12.50pm for the year).

Decided to subscribe. I'll have that paid for by the close of business tomorrow...

Look forward to not having to put up with Oli Jimminy Cricket Bell and Chapman.

    At least for a year...

I see Musselburgh has squeezed in a fixture on Friday starting at 11.30 so RUK will have to keep leaving Cheltenham.

    On Gold Cup day.

    A word of warning/notice.

It looks like you can't record RUK if it's coming in via a Freeview box. Something to do with its being a data channel?

It's not that big a deal for now as I can watch it live most of the time and I can access replays elsewhere but I've watched my ITV HD recordings of last year's festival a few times and do enjoy that facility. I was hoping I could do that with RUK.

You can use Sporting life video to rewatch races as a workaround mo.

I couldn't operate without race replays.

I think Luck and Hislop are the two best racing journalists and broadcasters.

Haven't seen enough of Hislop to say but Luck is streets ahead of anything on ITV.

Anyway, I'm just experimenting with it to see if I find it worthwhile.

Should be better than it is, still too many talking heads for my liking.

I look at it as paying not to have Chapman, Harvey and Fitzgerald, worth every penny

Like I said all about opinions DG, grest that certain pundits polarise opinion. I used to really like Chapman, but he's starting to irk me now.

Pay for actual racing coverage/ reviews as opposed to Alice Plunkett calling women 'girlfriend' and pantomime themed tv.

    Gladly.
