In The Desert Orchid Chase on Wednesday, while I've got nothing personal against Politlogue, I feel he will get found out at some point over 2 miles. He needs to be taken-on at the current prices.

Special Tiara is the obvious danger, but Forest Bihan could also be a big player on best form, if you're willing to forgive the last run, (which I am).

He's still only a 6yo, just turning 7 in a few days time. I reckon Brian Ellison can get more improvement out of him. He's the bet at 12/1, each way.

Nicholls has talked up his horse quite a bit; that’ll do for me. But I’m not backing him at odds on.

Sprinter Sacre Simonsig Dodging Bullets Ar Mad Altior

Pretty sure everyone recognises those names

The last 5 winners of the Wayward Lad Novices

Are Kempton doing enough? The KG is the 2nd most prestigious chase in the UK yet it's worth only 1/3rd of what the Gold Cup is worth

The Wayward Lad race is worth a lousy 22k and they can't draw a single Irish entry

    We end up with Cyrname,Kostaquarta,Shantou Rock,The Unit,Tommy Silver,Dolos

While Ireland's novice is worth more than double to the winner and hosts up and coming stars in Footpad and Death Duty

Kempton report drying ground and are looking for the full 10mm forecast to maintain G/S, Soft in Places for racing tomorrow.

Should be no ground excuses for anyone in the KG.

The Xmas Hurdle could end up a messy affair if Barry tries to leave things to the last minute. You give the New One half a chance and he's one tough nut to crack.

Really hope Barry uses his speed and takes a good few lengths out of the field after the final turn but well before the 2nd last like Faugheen did.

Mias storm is one i liked since I saw her. She is a bit shorter than I hoped.

It looks a weak renewal mind.

I'm swithering - didn't realise that is just a Scottish word - about having a bet tomorrow.

In the Kauto Star my ratings were leading me towards Mia's Storm but I was hoping for at least 10/1. I wouldn't want to be involved at 5/1 let alone 5/2 but she is a potential winner. I'm just wondering when was the last time a mare ran in this let alone was favourite for it and how did she get on.

I'm also wondering if Black Corton was 100% against the other pair last time. Then I'm wondering why Tizzard also has West Approach pitched in. That hurdles run before he lost his form didn't look misleading and would probably put him top on ORs.

Too many ifs. Too many buts. And only one horse longer than 9/1. One to watch and learn from.

The Christmas Hurdle looks a lap of honour for Buveur D'Air. Can't back, can't oppose.

The King George looks a very very good race. BDM's Haydock run looks too good to be true just as his handicap win at the track did last season. I have him top rated but just wonder about him. I'm on Might Bite for the Gold Cup at 14/1 and 12/1 and he's a very short price on the ratings. It's curious indeed that Whisper's OR is 7lbs higher but might even under-estimate him yet Hendo is on record as saying Might Bite is "yards and yards" in from of him. That might be a slightly misleading statement in that ten yards, say, is only about three lengths or about 2lbs at the trip. Fox Norton will need to improve for the step up in distance and is no value at his price.

If there is any squeak of value anywhere, how about Tea For Two at around 25/1? The Aintree form would read very well were it not for Cue Card's awful form this year but Smad place and Aso redeem it. And BDM was beaten out of sight on the day. Then again, Aintree can throw up strange results too.

On my figures it is a proper Grade 1 race and should they all show their form it should be an absolute belter. There could be five or six in line going to two out. It's maybe just one to watch and hope that's how it turns out.

Fiddling The Facts was a mare and she won I think, few years ago though!

Thing about The Biter’s rating is that it’s derived from a 2L beating of Whisper at Aintree, which (imho) in no way reflects his real superiority over that top-class novice. His OR - in real terms - should have been upgraded significantly following Whisper’s Hennessy/Ladbrokes outing, yet here he is....running in the KG.....from a mark lower than the hopelessly-exposed Tea For Two.

There’s going to be a firework display tomorrow.

    Enjoy it.

It you try script the race

    Three front runners

2 talented young uns and the Thistle

    Older horse will crack first

Leaves the mad bastar* and the grey

Can anything live with the biter and will the Potts horse improve lbs for the step up

    Fox is a non-stayer.

    BDM is a boat.

    Thistler is a crock.

What I never realised is when Thistlecrack won the King George he broke the track record which makes Might Bites's performance in the Feltham even more amazing.

What is more amazing is where on earth does Nicky keep finding these super-stars a status Might Bite will no doubt earn if he hacks up today.

I agree about BDM who I believe was flattered no end at Haydock. I will most likely place late him today and my final thought is only a return to his very best from Thistlecrack has a chance of stopping him

The King George is famous for horses collapsing in a heap and being tailed off which may open a door for EW punters

I could see BDM folding and stopping like shot, Fox Norton can't possibly get the trip, Thistlecrack a def PU candidate if his last performance is anything to go by, Whisper won't get away with jumping errors round here which leaves an opportunity for Double Shuffle or T42 to pick up a place at big odds
