Had to laugh at Kevin Blake today. In the same breath he questioned the decision to run Our Duke last weekend but said it was good for Presenting Percy.
Nothing to do with the position he took on Friday I’m sure.

Latest acceptors for the championship novices' chases and novices' hurdles, following yesterday's scratchings deadline.

Yanworth formally scratched from the RSA and the JLT.

I'm just going to leave this Alan King quote here for a bit.........

"I’m hoping that Yanworth shows everyone what he can do – and shuts up one or two people – in the Grade 2 novice chase at Newbury on Friday. There was never any chance that he would switch back to hurdles after his fall at Exeter last time. What would be the point of that? Yet I saw that suggestion being made and it does annoy me when so-called experts, who’ve never sat on a horse in their lives, say that sort of thing."

Who would have guessed that Alan King is a spoofer extraordinaire and that Yanworth wouldn't cut it as a chaser
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

Willoughby Court has a poisoned foot and not certain to make Cheltenham according to the trainer today.
Alcohol, because no good story ever started with "I was eating this salad..."

Still life in my Finians Oscar bets. Just need Invitation Only and Al Boum Photo to get injured now.

Could connections of Monalee be tempted with the JLT now instead of the RSA?

After his win at the DFR over 2m4 and no potential monster(s) waiting for him in the JLT, the thought has to be crossing their mind....

Backed him for the RSA at 50/1 last night after reading WPM stable tour comments.

I thought it was interesting that Bonbon Au Miel got a couple of positive mentions.. so much so that Willie was saying he was Wylie's no.1 for RSA and that he'd definitely go for it, meaning JLT more likely for Invitation Only. Almost as if Invitation Only was to fit in around Bobbon Au Miel's plans. It encouraged me enough to take a chance ew at 50/1 - no NRNB concession though.

Wylie has said in the past that he will never have two of his in the same race if that helps?

Yeah I factored that in alright. My thinking was that if Invitation Only was clearly the better horse (which we've all been operating under the assumption that he is) then you send him for the race that suits him the best and then send Bonbon to the other race or the 4 miler, to fit in around the better horses plans.

Obviously this all goes without saying that WPM antepost is what it is!

The fact he said Invitation Only had options for both races, but considering Bonbon was an out and out "RSA type" and that "definitely looks to be the race for him" made me stand up and take note.

I've only done small stakes at 50/1. If it pans out, Bonbon likely to go off 16/1 or shorter. He's already as short as 20/1 NRNB for the RSA.

No way Invitation Only runs in the RSA.

That's what we're saying. The discussion is more to do with why exactly that is. The obvious answer is that WPM thinks JLT is best race for him. But something that made me take note was his comments yesterday about Bonbon being better suited to RSA and he'd keep them apart. He could just as easily have said JLT best for Invitation, and Bonbon goes the other race to accommodate, but he didn't. Like Granger said above, Bonbon has gone largely unnoticed to date to most of us. It's just interesting is all.
