Indeed Luke; second to El Gran Senor in Gladness and won Derrinstown Derby Trial (just) at Leopardstown the day El Gran won 2000 Gns.
The first race meeting I ever went to was at the Phoenix Park in 1973.
I can remember very little of it other than George McGrath won the first race on a horse trained by Kevin Prendergast.
RIP George.
Mr A J (Jim) Wilson.
Best associated with Little Owl and Willie Wumpkins , he was a leading amateur rider in my formative years .
Also managed to train a Festival winner , Taberna Lord.
Rest In Peace
In tribute, the last of Willie Wumpkins three (yes, three) consecutive Coral Golden Hurdle wins...
Watched each one with my Dad, with some pennies on each time, too.

Some horse, and some jockey/trainer. Thank you both. RIP Jim Wilson.
Horrible news from Glenbeigh pony races today.
Jack De Bromhead ( son of Henry) reportedly killed after a fall.
Irish Times have it

Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done
I just saw it on Facebook but was hoping there had been a terrible mistake. My heart goes out to his family. Awful. Just awful.
That’s so sad.
It's very sad news.its sad to read any teenager dying. At least he was doing something he liked and not stabbed in the street.
I feel for all the parents.
A friend of mine had his son die at 18 and he was never the same guy afterwards. So sad.
Dreadful news.

Awful. Condolences to family, friends and everyone connected.
So sad. I've no doubt he had a loving family and he had what, 60 years ahead of him working with horses, maybe taking over from his dad eventually. Terrible. RIP
I just don't know how a family get over something like this. It's an absolute tragedy.
Deeply shocked to read this awful news.

That's tragic, thoughts with his family
I've a photo taken of me standing beside Honeysuckle taken at the stable soon after Cheltenham in March. Jack took it. No words.
"And still they gazed and still the wonder grew. That one small head could carry all he knew.
And that small head knew that Impaire Et Passe would win the Champion Hurdle."
